Swap out microdrive?

Is it possible to crack open the Athena and replace the crap-tacular microdrive with, say, a 16GB compact flash card? I know that flash only has so many write/re-writes, but I'd fancy having a large storage space to keep music that won't change much.

Excuse me, not a n00b here. I did in fact search first. Why would I go out of my way to type a question that someone may or may not have an answer to if I could find the answer with a search?

When I ran a search, it didn't bring up the thread you linked to, but nevertheless thanks for all your good-natured help.
