So I currently have an HTC One m8 and its coming time for me to switch my phone as I do yearly if not less.

With the release of the M9 I was quite disappointing and the M4 looked amazing with what it could do.

However the only thing that is bothering me about is the display which is 1280x720. That seems like outdated technology to me... Do you think I'd notice that difference coming from a 1080x1920 screen?

It definitely would be a set back on a 5 inch screen. The pixel density is quite high but still it be visible differenceat 294 ppi pixel density if you keep both devices side by side.

Have you considered Xperia Z4 ? I heard it is coming to verizon by the end of May but take this with a pinch of salt

Hi Ryker
From My experience You should only see the difference looking on two devices at the same time , currently owning myself Nexus 5 FHD(1080x1920) , Moto G HD (1280x720) , Elephone G6 HD (1280x720) and to be honest real difference is visible very slightly . Surely it depends from screen quality as well , will get My M4 by this friday and will try to compare screen to Nexus 5 and will let You know what is the difference ;)

My advice.. Until it's possible to root it, or install a custom recovery, so you can install pre-rooted firmware, don't bother uograding yet. The phone itself is fantastic. The display may have a lower resolution, but you'll be hard pressed to notice. It's main issue is that out of the 8gb memory, almost 5gb is taken up by the OS, Sony apps, Google apps, and for some reason, a load of Amazon apps. Once you've installed a few essential apps, you'll start seeing "insufficient space" every time you try and install anything, even after you've moved apps to the sd card.
This phone desperately needs a root solution, so the sd card can be partitioned and use Links2SD. As it stands, the storage space is utterly useless.
