Worked great on my stock Note 5 and S7, though here's some issues I've noticed:
Note 5 (Nougat)-
Disabling the Airplane Mode icon will cause the screen to become black upon restarting the device. Though re-enabling the Airplane icon will fix this.
S7 (Oreo)-
When changing the time to display seconds, they will always appear even if changing to the "(Default)" setting.
The battery percentage will also disappear if the battery icon is removed.
I also tried this on a stock Note Pro 12.2 (Lollipop) and the program did nothing to the status bar.
