Just saw a video on the Verizon v10 root via tungkick, and didn't see that they unlocked bootloader, and on startup screen didn't show unlock bootloader. Wondering if we (tmobile v10) could do the same using LGUP and a tot file. Do we even have a tot file available for tmobile? And big props to tungkick.

Sorry for the dump question, but what is TOT??

I have been reading articles with that and I can figure out what it means...

I am expert with htc but not with Lg devices, actually this is my first lg phone... [emoji60]

I'm pretty sure OP is talking about the .TOT files in the newly revealed root method for Verizon V10 devices, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...ic-add-rootsystem-tot-vs990-tungkick-t3336345

If you can root both the Verizon and AT&T variants using the .TOT method, I'm confident to go out on a limb and say that it's possible for the T-Mobile variant as well. The only question is... why? Rooting will void your warranty anyways, so whether or not the unlocked bootloader message is displayed doesn't matter outside of your personal preferences.

If this is something that people want, I'd suggest contacting Tungkick.

TOT files most likely mean TOTal files, containing contiguous raw dumps of specific areas of the flash memory which stores your firmware.
They can also be written in most devices without restrictions using the mmcblk0 method with the proper "seek" and "count" parameters.
If you explore them with a hex editor, you will find plenty of interesting "things", normally not found in stock files ( like DZ, KDZ, etc.)
Fun stuff... :)
