I noticed that a few days ago the XZ1 US 47.2.A.4.45 was re-posted with R3C revision. Did anyone successfully download it? I tried downloading it twice, XperiFirm reported unpacked successful, but I only get partial files in the folder, is there something I missed?

Also, if anyone tested this one, does the battery drain issue get fixed? I'd like to know. Thanks!

Looks like it's been fixed and I just downloaded it successfully. It doesn't show on the firmware list on XperiFirm, but you can re-download it if you tried it before and still has the record in the downloads list. Some file are dated today so it's newly updated.

How do you download it?
XperiFirm just shows the 47.2.A.6.30-R3C release now...

Click on the up-and-down arrow button at the lower-right corner from XperiFirm, it'll show your download history, If you didn't clear it. Just find the record and click on start, it will download a new copy, that's how I did it. Hope it works for you.

Nah I cleared it already.
Any chance you can ZIP it up and upload it to me?
(I can share a Google Drive folder for you to upload it to...)

There might be an easier way. You can import my download history xml file, so you can download it directly via XperiFirm. I'll PM you.

If that doesn't work I'll upload it to you.

That worked - thanks.
Download just finished, and I compared the R2C with the R3C release:

elabel-G8342-row-row_201809030842515.1_47.1.A.12.270_X-FLASH-LTALABEL-C93B.sin is missing in the new release - doubt that matters.
fwinfo.xml shows the new revision number.
oem_X-FLASH-CUST-C93B.sin is different - but that doesn't matter in this thread since we're replacing it with the XZ1c version.
userdata_X-FLASH-CUST-C93B.sin is different - but I always remove that so I don't wipe my device.

In other words, for mixed-flash users in this thread I wouldn't worry about this release.
Hopefully they will release the XZ1c 47.2.A.6.30 version soon.

So if I flash the new customized us firmware on my xz1 that just got released a few days ago but I still have the old xz1c firmware oem file for wifi calling and volte, do you think it would mess anything up or will it work just like normal? Or should I just wait for the xz1c updates to catch up?

From people who have tried that in the past, it won't work properly.
But I don't think there's any risk in trying ... you can always get into the flash mode and reflash the device with the old one.

NOTE:
The only weird thing I've seen was one update a while back where I couldn't go back to the previous one without wiping all settings/data on my phone.
I think that was on a major version upgrade though, so I guess it would make sense if some Android DB got updated.

XZ1c 47.2.A.8.24-R7C was finally released yesterday, XZ1 47.2.A.8.24-R3C is still available, anyone interested should download these asap before the versions go mis-match when the next updates arrive.

The drain is still there, even after a factory reset.
Good to know, thanks for the feedback. Hope we will see some improvements in 47.2.A.8.24. Time to start a new test....

Could you help me by being a bit more specific, what did you take from each one? I'm working on a G8441 or ZX1compact. Also, what did you use for the 47.2.fsc file?
No idea what that file is.

You download the releases you want with XperiFirm.
It will extract each of the updates to a separate folder.
You then start with the US base release directlry.
Copy system_X-FLASH-ALL-C93B.sin and vendor_X-FLASH-ALL-C93B.sin from a region other than US to retain fingerprint sensor.
Copy oem_X-FLASH-CUST-C93B.sin from the US XZ1c to enable VoLTE option in settings.
REMEMEBER TO DELETE userdata_X-FLASH-CUST-C93B.sin IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WIPE THE PHONE.

To flash it:
Power off your phone.
Connect USB cable while holding volume down - phone will show a green light in the corner.
Run newflasher from the directory you combined the firmwares in.
(If you haven't installed the drivers, newflasher asks you if you want to extract them)
After it's done flashing, unplug the USB cable.
Sometimes the phone keeps the green light on ... if it does then hold volume up and power (I think that's what it is) to force it off.

Thanks for your input. I used
G8441_Customized US_1310-4371_47.2.A.8.24_R7C
with
  • system_X-FLASH-ALL-C93B.sin, and
  • vendor_X-FLASH-ALL-C93B.sin
taken from
G8441_Customized DE_1310-4373_47.2.A.8.24_R3C
and it worked perfectly.

The 47.2.fsc file which I mentioned earlier is in .flashtool/mydevices/G84XX/ . I just renamed the 47.1.fsc to 47.2.fsc.

I just wanted to confirm that this worked perfectly!! The hardest part as a newbie was getting the courage to do it. Thanks themoveforward !
A week ago, my XZ1 compact G8441 asked if it could upgrade. I naively said "yes". I had been running a hybrid of the UK 47.1.A and the US 47.1.A, so I probably should have ignored it and refreshed myself. After the upgrade, it could no longer connect to the network or WiFi. After trying many things, I gave up and purchased a new phone. Today I was trying to debug the old phone again and noticed that the IMEI was blank! I assume that this happened during the upgrade to 47.2.A.

I really would like to be able to used my old phone--I really liked it. I know the correct IMEI number with which to program it. Is there any way to put the IMEI back in place? I know that this is not supposed to be possible, as it is supposed to be a security feature to allow stolen phones to be blacklisted, but I really would like to have that phone back.

I'm getting HD logo displaying during voice mails and certain calls here on my end. This is just stock US firmware with AE system/vendor(fingerprint). No wifi calling active.

France Firmware for Canadian VoLTE

Does anyone know if the France firmware will contain Canadian or US modem configuration files?

Trying to get an XZ1 Dual working with Fingerprint and VoLTE on Telus in Canada
