Problem solved, after trying all variants of TWRP available on twrp.me there was not even 1 working on a Stock ROM T810.
So i uninstalled all drivers involved and removed the latest Odin (Odin_3v3.14.4) and started clean install:
-->> Odin3_v3.13 <<-- and -->> Samsung USB drivers 1.7.23.0 <<-- restarted pc, and flashed -->> TWRP-3.2.1-0-gts210wifi.img.tar <<---
TWRP finally installed & working...
I hope this will save time for anyone who doesn't get TWRP flashed on a Stock ROM Galaxy Tab S2 because it cost me a few days figuring out

To those having Error 7 while flashing, Open the updater-script file and add TZ.BF.3.0.3-00021 (If you android 6.0) or delete the assert lines altogether.
Hi,
I get the Error 7 message while flashing, so following the instruction, I modify updater-script to see if that works. I have done both adding TZ.BF.3.0.3-00021 or deleting the asset lines altogether.

However, whenever I modify updater-script file and rezip it, it spits back and Invalid Zip format! error.
I have downloaded the ROM no less than 10 times and it fails each time.
I have used WinRAR, WinZip, and 7-zip, all failed. Not sure what to do now.
S2 T713 using the 4/6/2020 nightly.

Please help!

Thank you,

Ok, I figured out how to get it to work. Maybe there is an easier way, but this is how I did it.
After modifying update-script, save it, and then use WinZip to open the ROM, DO NOT UNZIP IT, just open it, navigate to the folder containing update-script, and drag the new file into the folder.

Then click on save on the top left corner, this will save the file directly into the zip file, without unzipping and zipping it again.

This worked for me.

Thank you,

These instructions don't work for a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 prior to 2015. You have to search for twrp and lineage for "gts28wifi" (no "ve"), and get ARM, not ARM64 versions of addonsu and open gapps.

My Tablet S2 SM-T713 can not boot the system. Try awhile then It goes back to the recovery TWRP. I did make reboot system again but unsuccessful. It went to a screen with a smile for awhile then boot back to recovery. I have TWRP already flashed. So I use TWRP to install the 3 files: lineage-16.0-20200420-nightly-gts28vewifi-signed.zip, addonsu-16.0-arm64-signed.zip and open_gapps-arm64-9.0-nano-20200502.zip as instructed. Did I miss something to make it crazy.
Thank you
[Edit] I try again by wipe Data first then install the 3 files again but so far no luck. It still boot back to TWRP after try to boot system for awhile.
[Edit] Download and use this version lineage-16.0-20200413-nightly-gts28vewifi-signed.zip and it works.
Thank you.
[Edit] Then use the system to upgrade to version 4/20/2020. So I think the lineage-16.0-20200420-nightly-gts28vewifi-signed.zip file got corrupted somewhere.
Thank you.

Been through your process and it all appeared to be error free. Now when it has finished and rebooted, took about 9 minutes, it came back straight into the ""Team Win Recovery Project" 3.2.3-0 . How do I get out of that into a working tablet? From the TWRP screen, I hit "reboot", "Power Off" and it comes back to that screen every time.

Which LineageOS file you are using. Like I wrote my tablet keep boot system for awhile then go back to TWRP screen recovery. Mine LineageOS file was corrupt so I download an earlier version file and it worked. After that go to settings and do an system update. Please refer to my #28 post. Use this lineage-16.0-20200413-nightly-gts28vewifi-signed.zip file. It worked for me. Hope that help.

SD Card and internal storage #28

Can see the SD card but not the internal storage (USB connected to PC), is this normal? Also, when device booted it can't see the SD card for about 1 minute, then all good. What format is the SD card after the device formats it? Should I replace the SD card?

Hey there. Found this guide as I recently got a tab s2 and it's very well written, but one step is really hard and it's the whole "boot into recovery from download mode". Whatever I try I can't get it to work.
I assume when you say to hold the Download mode combo (pwr+home+volDown) you mean while the screen is blue with the message "Downloading....". I do this and as soon as the screen turns off I switch to recovery combo (pwr+home+volUp) but I always land at the "Samsung Galaxy Tab S2" screen and it just stays there.

Is there a way to completely turn OFF the tablet from Download mode so I can start into recovery easier? I don't know why it's not working for me tbh. I've tried timing it, tried being a second earlier, later, whatever. Always the same thing. I fear I might be doing something wrong tbh.

(A note: I don't have the "enable unlock OEM" option in my developer options but apparently that means I don't need to enable it. Odin works just fine and I get a pass after 3 seconds. Oh, and my KNOX WARRANTY VOID: went from 0 to 1 so I assume it worked).

EDIT: I want to add my TabS2 is model SM-T815, in case that matters.
Did you get an answer to your question or find a solution for this issue? I'm running into the exact same thing—same challenge, I've tried the same solutions, same model...all of it. Your comment stands out because I could have written it, myself. I'm hoping you also found a solution.

Thanks!

I have just "done successfully" my Tab S2. Had same problem. Eventually found you had to be very fast between letting go the three buttons then pressing them again with the Volume Up instead of down.

If I go super fast, I get the screen that says "Samsung Galaxy Tab S2" and then below that "Powered by Android," and it just freezes there. (If I go a little slower, I get that screen, and then it boots into the stock OS.)

I think I'm getting the timing, but the process seems to be freezing, as described above. Has anyone else with the same model (SM-T810) been able to solve this? Or is the timing really THAT sensitive? I can keep trying, but I've probably flashed twrp about 20 times, moving as fast as I can, and the best result I get is freezing on that one screen.

Thanks in advance for any help!

EDIT: I also see that I misspoke in my first post. The model is not the same as the comment I was replying to. Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah, getting the same thing. There's no way I can go any faster.

The random rebooting is down to battery I think. Stock Samsung had the issue and same with this ROM for me so likely a hardware issue.

On a separate issue before I potentially bork a functioning build, has anyone tried installing the Lineage app from recovery after the flash? I had the same issue of it entering an infinite reboot loop initially so disabled the install but now it's all working I'm wondering if it's worth trying again?
