Why not? Is it just too much of a challenge to get the chipset to work?
For somebody who really knows what they're doing, its not hugely difficult. I don't have a brain for one so I can't really do it (or can I?). Nobody with any experience has this tablet, and it would be a chance for CM if somebody like @T_I who knows what they're doing had this device.

Is there a reason developers don't like this tablet? It seems to be a good option.

Or do developers just not have tablets? :p

It is a great option, but hear me out: let's say you're a dev. You can make an old tablet new again by tweaking more crap. Why upgrade?
True. But then again, people had pretty much given up on unlocking the VZ Note 4 and it happened. I think I'll get the T813, since you say it's better for tasks, and hope CM or RR comes out for it. If not, I at least have all the TW gimmicks.

Well I actually made a TW ROM for the t813 and t713 that is aroma and is debloated. The t813 version is having some issues that I will fix when I get home in about a week from vacation. Its called lightning rom
Ah, thanks for that! Hopefully you're still around in a year, updating it.

I haven't tried Lightening Rom, but plan to as soon as its all good for the 813. The stock rom really isn't bad, but I would love to see PAC-rom for the 813.

As far as not rooting for warranty, go for it and don't worry about it. Chances are you'll not have a problem and will have a lot more fun with a rooted. I rooted mine within the first week of having it.

From what I've ready I would (and did) go with the 813 over the 810. Less heating issues, people say better battery life and faster.

MODS: Since the '15 and '16 versions are so different regarding development, could we have separate sections for development instead of what we have now? Android Development t710, t810 2015, Android Development t713, t813 2016? ( there are some LTE model #'s to include in there as well. I think that would help those who don't really understand the difference to flash the right stuff and also help devs see where the demand/activity is.

So there's no KNOX issue with the bootloader unlock? If I can just flash back to Stock to restore the warranty, I'll definitely root and flash. If not, I'll have to see if I hate Stock enough to try something else :p.

Do you mean 813 over 810? Because that's another plus if there's less overheating. My Note has a bad time with that.

A split like that would've been helpful to me, honestly. I get it now (I can even tell you with some certainty that the 719 and 819 are the new LTE models), but explanations would've saved some research.

I'm not sure about knox. I didn't research it. I just rooted. Not very concerned with warranty myself. I've never had a Samsung device that didn't last a year. And I've owned a whole lot of Samsung. (fridge, washer, dryer, laptops, tvs, monitors, tablets, phones, camcorder, you get the idea). Be nice to it and I'm sure it will be good for you.

Yes 813 over 810, thank you for pointing out my typo.

So that's two votes for separate Dev sections. Come on Mods!

I'm glad to see that the 813 is a good option. I'll most likely not be able to wait a year to root and unlock, honestly, especially if an AOSP ROM comes along. I know that rooting can be reversed if I can use KingRoot to do it, so that probably won't be an issue.

I do want to warn you that it's likly that the Tab S3 is coming out in just a couple of months. I bought my S2 from costco, so I can return up to 90 days, by which time the S3 will or wont be announced probably. The rumor says Sept 1 or 2 announcement.

Keep that in mind if you are about to buy. Because the price will be coming down on the S2 if the 3 comes out, and it'll also be updated.

Yeah. I read up on the S3 rumors, but saw some posts on XDA that pointed out all the rumors cites the model number as T719 or T819, which is the LTE 2016 S2. What I read on the rumor articles, the specs are exactly the same as the 2016 S2, so I'm skeptical. If I get this tablet, I'll need it before I go back to school, which is the 4th (boarding). I also need to sell me iPad, which will be hard to do through the schoolwork.

Honestly, CM would be a pain on this tablet. A lot of crashes and functionalities that wouldn't work properly. Marshmallow is so mature that I personally don't see the need for rooting or custom ROMs. And I HAVE been doing my bit of flashing in the day. If you really want to run CM on a tablet maybe do it the other way around: look for a CM supported tablet on their website and go for the best one you can afford.

Why do you think it would be fully of crashes?

I gave up my S Pen and S Health features already, when I installed CM on my phone, so I'm fine sacrificing some gimmicks and minor features if it means getting a themeable vanilla Android experience.

Thanks, I'm just messing around a bit with loads of help from @RaymanFX and @CTXz.

Those that likes the Tab S2 have the first one, the ones who don't won't buy any of them, I guess.

Duh, those tablet are expensive. I was glad I could get the T815. I won't stop anybody from donating one :fingers-crossed:, but my cash is spent. :D

Just be glad you don't have to get an iPad. It's like $100 more for the same storage capacity, heavier tablet, lower specs, less freedom and less power.

I wish I had the extra money to donate a $400 tablet :p.
