T95 Allwinner H616 TV Box

Alright guys, I might be asking the golden question here!

But, why does this T95 4GB 64GB device just keep restarting itself? Soon as I try to use any app or even manage the settings, it eventually just reboots itself!?

I have scoured the web for answers, can anyone help with this? I've got the latest firmware version 27 which I believe was released in June 2021,so I'm baffled about this as I've literally JUST bought this POS lol!

Hey Man, so basically it turns out this is a hardware issue from what I read online - something to do with overheating but is like impossible to fix!

I ended up returning mine for a refund and buying an Nvidia Shield Pro instead, and I would absolutely recommend that you do the same! You won't be disappointed, the Shield is the REAL DEAL! Best tech purchase I've made in a long time

my original Firmware was 10.1.A19 (with root switch, netflix / amazon / aptoid / kodi / google play). Because the OTA update never was working, the seller send me links to update it with this version : T95-H616-A29-0110

EDIT: the seller add that this version work for any wifi version (only 2.4ghz, or 2.4+5Ghz )

I'm trying to edit the build.prop file on this box, root switch is flicked, root is checked and confirmed, bootloader unlocked, if I install magisk app, install magisk, restart, the box will not boot. If I just edit the build.prop itself, the box will not boot.

What am I doing wrong? I just want the box to think it is a phone so I can use the mobile version of Google photos instead of the TV version. I did this on my QPlus box no problem but the T95 is a nightmare!!! Somebody please help.

I'm running the T95-H616-A29-0110 firmware if that helps.

I am using A29 and I cannot get Magisk installed. I’ve tried to install Magisk 22 and 24. Everytime it reboots I get a black screen after the splash screen and I have to reinstall the firmware. The only reason I want to install Magisk is so that I can enable system less host so that I can enable Adaway. I have also tried A27.

Also is there anyway to keep it from forgetting what my default launcher is?

I tried flash T95's firmware (because of root) i Transpeed h616 (no root), has same device-specification, but It doesn't boot.
Do you know why? Shall I unlock boot-loader first? If yes then fastboot oem unlock works?

Had one of these for nearly two years, today it won't turn on.

We had a power outage yesterday and haven't tried it since then, so may be the cause.

The PSU is OK as I checked with a volt meter.

Any repair info anywhere? don't see a reset button on it.

I found that a29 locks the bootloader. You can google t95 h616 4pda. Translate the page to English and you will find several versions of the firmware.

Hello , i have H616-T95MAX-AXP313A-V3.0 2021-10-26 , I am having issue with the date when ever it loads up it doesnt auto update the time and it cant play youtube unless it is date is fixed everytime it power on , need to fix that , i am new and im learning please guide me , i downloaded Phonixsuit and downloaded some IMG file somewhere i click a button behind in AV hold and it doesnt detect also , wifi connection shows limited

HI all. I am the next deceived with this box I am using Mecool m8s Pro L and i am more than happy with it but just needed one more android box and decided to try that one. I am bit disapointed tbh. It is with some custom ****ty Google Pixel Android version. Not real updates for the apps and so on. It is good for watching TV but that is all. It does not play the videos smoothly enough does not matter what quality they are 720p or 1080p and i even do not want to think about 4K videos I already open the dispute with the seller but maybe will request partial refund and will keep the box to play with it. So, guys i read all posts here but i am quite confused. What is the best option to improve that box? To flash with the firmware but which one?? Did anybody find Android TV version for it yet? As my Mecool is with ATV and works really well. My T95 is supposed to be 4/64 but i do not believe after i read all posts here and as i can see how it works. Will open the board and will check in the next days.

The build version is 10.1.A29-0712 and it is with 2.4/5Ghz WiFi and Bluetooth.

So any advise how to improve that toy will be really appreciated. Thanks.

Just thought I would post regarding this box. Not much information on it.
I bought on a whim without realising the one thing I wanted was missing (Bluetooth). However the box has grown on me.
Its powered by the new Allwinner H616 Chip. However its performance sucks. For some reason they have forced CPU to 1.4GHz all the time. No point in my opinion, it just causes it to heat up for no reason.

Anyways, it comes fully rooted. I did try and install SuperSU, ended up killing root. So I reflashed it using usb flasher. There is also a new firmware update, which shows when doing wireless update.
Firmware released is 10.1.12, update takes it up to 10.1.14. So I did update and then factory reset to start fresh. The only problem is, rom is such a mess. App folders every where and system is filled to 100%. I deleted bloat in /system/pre-install folder.

I stopped rooting stuff years ago, so Magisk is newish to me. I thought I would try Magisk manager. Worked great, was able to install Magisk. From then on all root apps worked as I was able to set root access, which is something I could not do before. I also installed kernel auditor and set read ahead on and tweaked the build.prop. This helped speed it up, now stuff like Emulators no longer jerk and stutter.

One downside, Prime video does not work, you have to use Amazon Video (which is their browser alternative).

So hope this helps anyone with the same box.

I know this is an old thread, but can anyone assist with the TWRP recovery .IMG for the above box or for the H40 Allwinner H616 box..

I need it to temporarily boot into recovery to flash magisk but can't seem to find it anywhere.

PS I have the ZIP but do not want to permanently flash it....

How do you plan to temp boot twrp or even flash it permanently?

Check to see if there's a folder named да -- If there is, your device is infected with malware. I'm investigating reports this is included in brand-new devices purchased online. If you're affected (or not) please reply here and let us know if you're on stock or flashed firmware.

flicked root switch to off
box rebooted
opened adaway hosts done ads blocked
opened apps with ads = no ads
Flick root switch again to gain root for filemanagers etc
