How's your battery life on the 713?

You can only ask or indeed answer that question if you can compare it to another device you own and use the same way or its a pointless question.
We all use them in different ways and this has a huge effect on aspects such as battery life.

It's almost like comparing how long a tank of fuel lasts in a car.
It all depends on many factors.

Thats a hard question to answer since I just got the 713 but my feeling is that battery life may be a little better than the 710. I would assume the doze feature on 6.01 helps. That being said, battery life isn't as important to me on my tab, which I use at home, compared to my phone, which I have with me all day. I do wish it had wireless charging, but that would add weight which was a prime consideration for me.

Basically, I think it has now been established that you should get the 713, though if you already have the 710 it's still a great tablet and I would wait for the next, next shiny thing before upgrading!

Samsung need to release another 16:9 tablet instead of iPad clones.

Actually, one of the reasons I wanted this tablet is the 4:3 aspect ratio. I have the Nexus 7 which is fine, but I much prefer the 4:3 for the way I use my tablet - everything except movies and videos, which I always cast to my 60" TV and listen to in surround sound. And, for you fanboys, this tablet is lighter and thinner than an ipad (which I wouldn't take for free anyway...). I'm going to love this tablet right up until next week when a shinier tablet comes out!

+1 I don't think there would be a significant real-life performance difference between the two to make the upgrade worthwhile for existing owners.

My take is that the battery life is indeed better.
Under my same usage I do indeed get more battery life.
As far as an upgrade is concerned it would depend on the trouble you have to go through.
If you recently got the T710 and are within the return period I would swap it!
MM, Plus the batt life, plus the obvious performance boost is definitely a nice thing.
I would say this is how the S2 should have been originally.

Tough call though. If you could fetch a decent amount on eBay for the T710 (i.e. yours is mint and you have the box) I would say go for it. :)

Everything is the same except for the updated processor, and newer version of Android, 6.01, which has a slightly different UI. All these updates are positive improvements.

How's the standby time? Is it still really good, dropping maybe 1 percent every 8 hours or so?

I disagree. For tablets, 4:3 ratio is the sweet spot. Just my opinion though.
They each have their benefits, but my TV is 16:9, my pc is 16:9, my laptop is 16:9, my PJ is 16:9, even my phone is 16:9(albeit in portrait mode mostly)

Picking up a 4:3 device feels awkward.
