That is how I did it.
Flash .307 , root it with v17, update supersu, make it system (needed 2 times, 2 restarts), ota. 244 and still have root.
Just perfect.

Thanks.

So how do I make super subject system?, How did you know you had to 2 times and have 2 restarts?
Can it be unroofed if I have problems and need to ship back to Sony in the future?

I recall DooMLoRD saying in an earlier post that he did not have any model of Xperia Tablet Z. In his signature, the devices he lists as having are Sony Xperia Z, SP, T, and S. He is currently posting in forums covering those devices.
Yup I noticed it now..... Man so is our future = no root ever? or as i asked before is someone else is talking over.

took the plunge and rooted my 311
was damn easy unlike matts utlity for droid razr where the utility size was > 300mb , lol

reason for taking plunge > am expecting 3.2.2 for 311 soon and 321 guys have been able to restore root by ensuring Super Su is a system app in 307 + voodo OTA as backup (not necessary thou)

hope we guys are able to keep root also : )

The 311 update just came out for 4.2.2 - if anyone can confirm making it a system app keeps root on the 311, please confirm here!

Does anyone know if root keeper will work on the Z?

Also on Wi-Fi version, and reading in other threads, the update is now available.

Cheers

No it doesn't work. I also moved supersu to system and lost root. This sucks :(

Here in the UK I was not offered the update OTA. I only found it when I connected to the PC, and was offered it via pcc. So like others I have lost root. Kids the only way forward to ftf back to 370 and start again?

:(disappointed buying Sony Product again, i bought XTZ thought it will have at least the current dev which develop Xperia Z tweak cross over here as well but seem like even Sony release open source also dun seem to help at all.. @DooMLoRD why did u give up on XTZ? seem like i can only use XTZ in my bathroom only. :(

guys, root sticks if you do OTA for 311 with a pre rooted 370 ( making Su as system app)
just updated mine to 4.2.2 and root is intact :)
Did you have to remove the dualrecovery before applying the ota?

Sorry if you don't have the dualrecovery installed, I thought I was in that thread...
