Hi

I have a French Tablet Z 16 gb (no LTE, only wifi) with the last firmware ( 10.3.1.C.0.136 android 4.2.2 ).

Unfortunately i need root to install a NTFS software like paragon.

Are there any solution for the root this fimware? My bootloader is locked I think. Should i downgrading ?

Thanks
google around or search in the forum, there a VERY SIMPLE software for windows to one-click root Tmablet Z and a lot of other, you just need (if you really need to...) the "supersu" chinese app with the english one, but there a tutorial, I remember i found it here months ago...
I just found this guide on xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44554794&postcount=1 is for 4.1.2 but it's th same as 4.2.2 ,
please note that in the meanwhile the software called "Root Master" was updated to 1.7.2 but you can get it from the official site: http://www.mgyun.com/vroot
or probably the one you can download from that tutorial wil update itself.

as alway I'M NOT RESPONSABLE if you are going to brick the tablet or so, and I'm NOT sure that the supersu apk of the tutorial is the right one for our tablet but, as said before, if you google there's the same tutorial for our tablet with same software and steps.

Actualy I did id even for my nexus 7 4.3 and it worked fine... :)

Rooting Xperia Tablet Z SGP321, Build 10.1.1.A.1.307

Hi,

I've a new Xperia Tablet Z SGP321, Build 10.1.1.A.1.307, Android Version 4.1.2 with locked Bootloader I assume, it is the UK's Vodafone Version, which is brand new and haven't used it yet, If I use the DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit (V17) will it be safe to use with my Tablet? Please confirm that won't damage the Bravia Engine or cause problems for the hardware like stopping me charging it using the USB cable, etc?

I'm new to this Tablet and just want to root it.

Thank you and Merry Christmas

As listed HERE, DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit v13+ will work on an XTZ SGP321 running firmware 10.1.1.A.1.307.

Thank you Cat for your reply, this tablet is running the original firmware that came with it, I'm sorry to ask again, that shouldn't affect/brick it? Thanks again

I experienced no problems when I used DooMLoRD's tool to gain root access on my XTZ when it was running firmware version 10.1.C.0.370, so I do not believe you will experience any problems, but I guarantee nothing.

Vroot is the best and powerful tool for rooting your device.
Simple, fast and easy to use.
It's working fine! I'll root my tablet and all my phone with it!

DooMLoRD Thanx

First experience with xperia z tablet. SGP312 4.1.2 Build number 10.1.c.0.370 stock fresh out the box.
Let me just say to all of you who are having problems rooting with this. If you are running Win 7 64bit. and having problems just stop what your doing and find an xp service pack 2 machine and be amazed at the sheer amount of screwing around you were doing on win 7 64 bit. I am only saying this because I spent literally 6+ hours messing with this toolkit in win 7 and just could not get adb drivers to see the device. hours of reading and changing environmental variable paths and just everything you can imagine. Finally I just gave up and stewed over it. Woke up the next morning and threw the adt bundle on my xp machine, JDK, and the sony xperia tablet drivers on the machine while it was in debug mode. Ran the tool 1 time..........1 time and it worked perfectly. No bs just perfect. Root with super user. I will say as the tool finished the tablet did loop like 3 times and I got a bit worried but I just unplugged the usb cable and it came right out of it. Works perfect. After that I took the ota that sony was offering to 4.2.2 and it went off without a hitch and I kept superuser. I would say to you all. After everything I went through and the lack of info on this, I will just advise any of you using a 64 bit windows 7 or 8 for that matter, just find an xp machine and get it done quick and easy the way it was designed to be done. Thanks alot DooM. Great work

Win 7 64 bit

windows 7 x64
Thats almost surely your issue. Just from my experience, find a machine that has Win XP service pack 2 and follow the instructions again. It seems that there is some kind of issue with Windows 7 and the environmental variable paths so the toolkit, and the SDK platform-tools folder and files in the extras folder that holds the Google usb driver just cannot communicate so as soon as you put your tablet into debug mode you all of the sudden dont have the driver installed in device manager. Out of debug mode windows sees it just fine but obviously that doesnt do you any good with this tool. Now let me be clear I have no Idea how 32 bit Win 7 would work with this but the 64 bit version is what I had and I think the people on this forum should be aware of it.

It has to be something setting specific to your tablet then. Did you find an xp machine, install JDK and SDK on it? + your Specific tablet drivers?
Also let me ask you this. Plug your tablet into your computer via usb with debug mode off. Proceed to device manager and look at the device. Is it there and make sure there isnt an exclamation point on it. (WITH DEBUG MODE OFF). if it is there and all is good, leave device manager screen up and go to your tablet and turn debug mode on and watch the orange light on your tablet does it stay on or turn off and also in device manager in windows does it refresh and then come up with an ! on the driver? if so let me know.
