Stuck in TWRP

I finally managed to boot into TWRP with 2.5.1 release, using HW keys, but then it just stuck. TWRP is displaying in landscape mode, not portrait. I went to time settings to adjust time zone and it just froze there. I tried pressing the power button but all it did is display this big lock picture on the screen. Now there is no way to get out of it. I tried to hold power button for a really long time, tried to hold combinations of power/vol up/vol dn buttons, but it does nothing. Tried connecting USB cable and tried sending reboot commands from PC using fastboot and adb as well, but it doesnt work. Now my tablet is stuck on TWRP screen with 83% battery left. I don't want to have a brick for a tablet for several days, until battery runs out and it powers off - how do I get out of this?!

Press and hold power and vol-up together for a total of 10 seconds until it it reboots. It's a hardware reset function, that will get you out :)

@[NUT]: TeamWin finally released recovery for this tablet: http://www.teamw.in/project/twrp2/185

However, flashing it doesnt work. Using dd command from that page doesnt give any errors, says write is sucessful, but then when I boot into recovery - it's still your hybrid cwm/twrp, not their twrp 2.6. When trying to flash using fastboot it gives this:

sending 'recovery' (9184 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.579s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.592s

Any ideas?

Yes, after reading that link; that's for CM ROM's and unlocked bootloaders... It still requires a custom kernel... One which supports that tool they released.

You probably also tried to flash that recovery to a recovery partition which any Sony or SonyEricsson model does not have. It expects you to flash it to the fotakernel partition...

I have unlocked bootloader and I've just flashed LK and TWRP 2.6 again. Now I can succesfully boot into TWRP 2.6, but I cannot boot into system :( Tried Reboot->system option in TWRP and tried holding vol up + power buttons and it loops back into TWRP every time

Did u flash another boot img after fastbooting the first lk.img? Cause the second boot image he has is only for stock. 370. But if u flash a aosp zip it should boot fine. Just flash Rom like normal in twrp. Now the boot time is longer since LK is implemented. this should b reported in the LK thread so we dont bother Nuts thread

I had to use fastboot to flash back NUT's hybrid kernel. That's the only thing that worked to get out of the loop. Now I've just finished upgrading to to .370, will check if everything works, do nandroid and give LK + TWRP 2.6 another shot

UPDATE: After upgrading to .370 LK bootloader + TWRP 2.6 are working fine - no more boot loop. The only issue I have remaining is that none of those software reboot programs, which give you a choice menu of "reboot/quick reboot/reboot bootloader/reboot recovery/power down" etc' do not work with LK bootloader when trying to boot into recovery - still gotta use the HW keys

cool nice to here that you got it all worked out, i know. that y i built my own kernel with lilstevies patch on CM review.

http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/44678/

if you are willing i have a cm kernel with this patch..but your call. i am no kernel dev. but i do know a little and i have tested the kernel too. up too pm me
Thanks for the offer, but I'm not really into testing and messing around with stuff - just don't have the time. I prefer things stable and well tested. Root gives me the freedom of installing all apps and do any customizations I like, and custom recovery with ability to nandroid gives me a peace of mind, in case something gets screwed up...I'd consider installing a custom kernel if it was well tested and provided new features I find useful, such as ability to overclock, and custom CPU governors, which improve responsiveness and battery life.

I did update it, but it's still not compatible with the tablet Z in terms of TWRP and orientation... that's why i never updated this thread.
All I can say is that its really not stable in our Xperia tablet z. Both CWM and TWRP are not yet stable.

I tried the the 2.5.1, it does backing up but failed to restore and then i froze on SONY logo(i'd fixed it anyway)..

But I hope you can fix these in the next update.

How did you format the MicroSD card? exFAT or just simple FAT32?
