Taking 7.1.2 OTA after manually flashing Android O?

I was just wondering if it is ok to accept the OTA for the 7.1.2 beta after I have manually flashed the Android O Dev Preview? Or would I have to flash the 7.1.1 factory image and then be able to take the 7.1.2 OTA? I just don't want to be presumptuous and make a mistake with such an expensive phone. Thanks for the help ahead of time.

Hello... Why not installing 7.1.2 beta 2 image directly? Rather than 7.1.1 > 7.1.2?

My question was if I could take the 7.1.2 OTA over android o preview without any problems or would I have to manually flash the factory image?
Yeah indeed sorry. Considering it's totally different version and not 7.1.1 >7.1.2, I'm not sure. Personally I'd start fresh... Maybe I'm wrong, so better wait for someone else to chime in.

Still... You said if you had to flash factory image, you'd flash 7.1.1 and take 7.1.2 OTA. In this case, flash 7.1.2 image directly lol...

Cheers... :good:

Awesome thanks for your input. I'll go ahead and take your suggestion and start fresh. Harder for things to go wrong that way.

I have had issues with stock OTAs and custom ROMs dirty flashing in the past. Of course it takes a bit more time to setup my phone over and over again. But it's also much less problems than a device rendered unusable because I have been in a hurry.

Good luck...

That's true. I'm just finished up flashing the 7.1.2 image like you suggested and re locking the boot loader to go back to complete stock. No problems at all doing it that way. Appreciate the help. :good:

Hmm... If you want to use Android pay or something that requires a locked bootloader, prefer a custom kernel and an unlocked bootloader :good:

Since it's a beta, something bad happens and you get without a way of unlocking again... Just a suggestion...

Cheers...
