Anyways.. Thnaks for taking so much effort... What about the talking clock ? :)
ok lets try that if you can make it that way i post your tasker /whatsapp wish/too in that form XD

@theman1111

you see here 1 profile WIFI ---> entertask (WifiOC/onconnect)--->exit task(WIFINOC/notONconnect)
to WIFIOC belongs 1 undertask calld SSID --->made after Brandall 's description all respect to hem xD
in WIFIOC task all if statements are MY network names/SSID from used routers/ you need to change those on yours out BUT only THOSE (like by /variable set WIFIHOME To 2 / ---- if %ssid~*"Markonet"*) change markonet on your OWN ssid name (perform task-name SSID) and put priority on 9 ....
thats it hope you can make it should be easy with the screenshoots now ,just copy those left up corner you can see the names : wifioc, wifinoc:ssid:wifiscan

- srry im not going to export and link complete profiles or tasks for you ,if you take your time you got everithing you need here now and if you have setted up everithing you can also make your own stuff maybe next time....and maybe even better than i did ,its always more ways to set up the same thing in tasker so
have fun XD
-and push thanks button to motivate, lol @theman1111 @Shah Vacations chck the link for clock

hi mate nice thread.i have been using tasker from past week very useful app.I saw a video which showed that when i plug in headphones i can automatically play music using tasker and also install a plugin called media utilites to achieve the same. But for some reason it doesn t seem to work :( i ll list the details what i did
profile>state> hardware> headphones plugged in and in that type: any
task> launch app> play music
task> media utilites> configuration>smart play,play (doesn't work no matter what)
i tried with 3 different players i.e, play music, shuttle and default sammy music player
profile doesn t get activated even though in my notification it shows headphones are connected.

so any help here i am not sure where i am going wrong :( my phone details u can see in my signature

or if u can recommend me a possible workaround i'd appreciate that thank you in advance. if it is already posted please do link me to the same thank you

to the input tap you need root if you want to use third party app like (launch app->push play(input tapROOT)
or use autoinput from autoapps can find it on market/play store

thanks for all the efforts mate. but its not working as intended :( i still have to manually press play button to play in tasker and stop to stop music play back. i am not sure what i am doing wrong. Followed all your instructions. The profile just doesn t get activated when i plug in headset of mine. Probably its the headset fault. what i mean to say is tasker is not seeing my headset as a headphone/earphones :cyclops:
its sony MDR-V150 .
will try out my skull candy headphones that has a mic probably it will work with that .. not sure. its time for me to sleep so tomorrow i ll let u know what happens

push thank button pls XD

i told you this is the worst way anyway to get that task done... Buy autoinput ~(1euro)from store should work without root and than you can play any player too .... or root and you can use run shell input tap command in tasker too
do you get the flash if you plug in your headsett?<---?its the easiest way to see if a profile or any step in tasks is triggered or not
i tryd its working for me ,but still a wrong way i know from earlier never working god

AND FOR THE THREAD PLEASE USE THE THANKS BUTTON ,even if its not working or you still dont know how to use ,we spend here not less time by try to answer your QUESTIONS ......

Can I use tasker to:

Upon establishing bluetooth connection
Turn off wifi
Turn on hotspot/tethering

Upon losing bluetooth connection
Turn off hotspot/tethering
Turn on wifi

My motivation for doing this is that my car does not stream music via bluetooth, but does do phone calls. I have an old iPhone laying around that I can plug into my car's USB port to do Pandora. Using the iphone via USB, I retain track info display and the ability to skip tracks with the streering wheel buttons. I'd like to be able to get in the car, have my S4 connect to the car's bluetooth, and then automatically turn on tethering so that the iPhone has a data connection for Pandora. Can I do this with Tasker? Do I have to be rooted?

Thanks in advance!

The problem here is with Bluetooth deactivated what will tell the phone you are near your car?

Ok. This can be solved when I just switch my phone profile (with BT Activation) to car when I walk to my car or maybe this can be solved with an other project in tasker which will turn on just for 10 sec. every 5 minutes my Bluetooth with my
time-plan during the week from 6 am to 8 am and 4 pm - 8 pm ;)

What other profiles do you have running? Sounds like another one is kicking in.

With WiFi off how does tasker know you are home?

So the question remains what is turning the Bluetooth back on. Either something in the task, or another profile activating without you realizing most likely.
Can be but I think in my case difficult. In my parking at home isn`t gps or lte signal available - then I think something other will be more acceptable ! :)

Have a look at the attached screenshot....its a task: if I'm not connected to my wifi and the wifi is on then the task is to turn wifi off and BT and data on...this wifi stopper profile is available online...I just downloaded it and added in task BT and Data on.

Seems like you have too many profiles trying to control the Wi-fi switch and they are stepping on each other. The exit task for that procedure is executing when you are not expecting it, most likely in the time frame between the wifi turning on and it connecting to your wifi network. That exit procedure will kick in as soon as the wifi is turned on and before it has time to make the actual connection.

What you really need I think is to just use an exit procedure to the original task that tests for the GSM tower. When near that tower, turn on wifi and turn off bluetooth. Exit procedure reverses it. The problem is, that profile has a time restriction on it. Seems unnecessary, and will cause the bluetooth to flip on and wifi to flip off at night, since all three conditions are not met.

As an editorial note, I have found that WiFi doesn't really use a lot of juice. I never turn mine off. I use the connection to my home wifi (both by SSID and MAC address) to determine if I am home or not. The cell tower actually covers too wide a range.
