What does lock mean in the lower right corner of the application icon, like this screenshot below?

Also, how do i set up SmartTubeNext to be my Youtube app, and not the default Youtube app on the home screen of GTV for the shows to continue watching (see the first show on the left in the screenshot)?

No, you can't. That's the reason I came back to androidTv because it's easier to customize

No, you can't. That's the reason I came back to androidTv because it's easier to customize

you are right, I think that GTV runs smoother and faster.. also solved some problem (playing some AV codec via Nvidia Shield.. on ATV there is only audio ) but GTV is less customizable, the play store is hidden and Netflix is partially obscured (Amazon primevideo is by any chance sponsor of GTV ?? ).

No need for a seperate box - can just connect your satellite cable to the TV.

TCL's web based channel editor isn't currently working - you can do it on the TV but it can be a bit laborious.

There's also SetEdit - but demo version only lets you change 20 channels.
(used the free ToshibaEdit version on a previous TV but haven't tried this TCL version)

Hi, thanks for your post. For the SDR, the calibrated settings are good for ambient conditions. You may increase the backlight level to your preference based on your viewing environment. Increasing or decreasing the back light settings will never affect the other calibrated picture settings. I prefer to keep the backlight less than 20, irrespective of the environment as it delivers experience closer to the filmmaker mode. Unfortunately TCL C715 doesn't have a film make mode present and I personally like this mode as it delivers close to what the director intended to present.

why do you think that. i think that they shoud solve the dolby vision on the 635 (same platform 725)
For me Its normal that the c728 and tvs with the same platform (more expensive, with gaming features and even others with local dimming) have much more updates, because there are more features to mess up and there is always room for improvment. on the more basic tv tcl shouldnt stop updates if there is any major bug

I just bought a s546 and it updated itself to v306 on setup. It does not pass dolby surround over optical, from its own tv/apps or on pass through. I see there is a v335 available. Does anyone know if this fixes the dolby problem? I dont want to blindly install a new firmware, when everything else is working fine.

As I know Japan C728 is differnt platform....R51MT04.
Check your firmware installed in TV.

I think the brightness setting actually controls the backlight on these TVs - that's why it gives you energy efficiency warnings when increasing brightness.

Update: Went ahead and updated. Some new sound settings were unlocked and Dolby surround over optical is partially fixed. It works when watching tv, netflix, amazon, hulu. The peacock, and paramount apps, are still stereo. Also the tv still cannot pass through a 5.1 signal, only the built in apps.
