R51MT02 is Android TV and that version (V238) is very old.
In principle did you using firmware US version or global version ?

It's a google tv with chomrcast built in. i think it was US version based on apps that arrived with it.

Second stage is to install (update) US version or global version firmware.

Update was successful. Thx once again.
I have a question regarding tv remote. I'm unable to pair remote to TV. I can add any other Bluetooth devices to tv and on my phone I can see that remote is in paring mode and visible. I did try to reset remote by holding power button with battery out. I have tried factory reset on tv which led to to stuck on boot situation. Is there anything you could recommend? Is there any hidden menu maybe that I can access to troubleshoot this?

OK, once you are back ,can update with normal version.
As now you firmware is R213, when updating to V version ,need to rename OTA zip file from Vxxx to Rxxx.
So, which one you want ...US version or global version?
Are you in USA?

.....For global version, you need to flash another iMG file.
I give you this R213 in case you prefer US version.

Installation was successful, but it didn't work from local update.. had to go from power on installation.
Remote is still not paring. I will get new one and see what happens.

Ahh, OK.
Seemse R213 block to be updated from local update, as had latest security patch.
I should give you older R183.....but anyway, you solved !

Apologies for my ignorance, I am completely new to this area and started to play around with Android TV boxes recently. After tweaking a few things on the TV Box using ADB command line, I'm very excited that I want to try and do a local update on my TCL 55P615K with Android 9 (Kernel version 1.14.76+ #176, Build PPR1.180610.11) to Android 11.

I tried searching for my model however there is nothing comes up and I am trying not to brick the TV. Could you please help by confirming that my TCL TV will support V722 OTA V8-R851T02-LF1V722.000038. I will be following the step below mentioned in https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ndtv6-beyondtv4.4255729/page-51#post-86801937

Hello all, new here. I have a 2019 43" P8M connected to a Samsung Q600A soundbar(new). Firmware version was V634 if I remember correctly (much has passed in the last 2-3 days).

Digital audio out was set on Auto but had bad lip synch issues. Could not hear anything when setting to Passthrough or PCM. So I decided to take the plunge and update and, of course, messed that up.

Tried to do the OTA update to V727 at first but install got hung at about 30% so pulled the plug on the tv, removed the USB and deleted contents. Then downloaded the IMG file of V713(?) And successfully installed that. THEN installed the V727 OTA, successfully this time! YAY!

I then tested the set. App audio was good! I was also now finding and seeing/hearing Dolby Atmos on Netflix which I wasn't finding before. BUT, all channel audio was very, very, very quiet no matter what I set Digital Audio on, even the Auto option which worked before.

I then re-read this thread and noticed I hadn't done either of the recommended resets. I then found and performed a Reset Store (didn't find the Reset All at first), then a Reset All and then another Reset Store. Restarted the TV and voila, I had my audio back! And better yet, my lip synch issues are now minimized!

Everything is working and I have found a couple of settings I didn't have before. Even saw a 'Works with Alexa' setting for a while but said not installed when I tried to enable it. It is gone now.

Applied the picture settings posted a while back with some tweaking on my part and am enjoying the set much more now with fewer frustrations.

I have managed to update my TV from Android 9 to 11. As I said, I am new to this world and need a bit more help if it's not too stupid to ask.

The Kernel Version did not change after the upgrade, I am guessing the upgrade I applied is not supposed to change this. As I beleive Kernel is like BIOS and it's not going to change with OS.

Kernel-Version 4.4+ support ends in early 2024. Is there any way to upgrade that to 4.19.x (LTS) version? If so which Kernel will be supported with my TCL 55P615K BeyondTV.

If this is not the right thread for this then please advise.

I've got a 55C726 from the Middle East and don't seem to get any updates.
Software: V8-R51MT02-LF1V315.020654
OS: V5.2.0 (V8-2004200-MF1V520)

Do you know if this has a firmware update. If yes, please let me know which one I should use. Am not really concerned if the area changes from Middle East.

Is Google TV really better than Android TV? If yes, I really would like to switch to GTV. Would be really happy if someone can let me know which file to use to switch it to GTV.
