Can you change from V277 to R166? Tell me how to do it if you can? and tell me if there is a significant difference and if it is worth it. I am from Spain and I have a tcl 55C725. I see on platforms like Netflix the image very rare and not very fluid as a lack of refresh rate. Sorry for not having written in English before.

R166 is IMG file and can be flashed on any other version.
Search in this thread how to flash IMG file (many times posted).
V277 is Android 11 and R166 is Google TV system.
In post #712 you can see versions which can be installed.

Not using, but I will always go with Google TV and latest security patch....Jan 2022...so V254.

Ok thanks, so to get to V254 from V277 I have to flash VR166 first? C725 doesn't recognise V254 zip file.

Yes, you need to flash the R166 IMG file first and then apply the V254 OTA file update to that version. As explained by @stasiof further back in this thread you need to rename the OTA zip to R167 for it to update.

So managed to install V254, but now have lipsync issues when connected to AV receiver.. I've tried turning off all of the TV enhancements...

V407 IMG first, then V414 OTA update.

T615T03...V4xx firmware version will be also for 2022 models, as C735, C835, C935

Thanks, i did it as you suggested without any problem.

Unfortunately, the HDMI problem is back (no Dolby digital plus).

So far,
V83 : no Dolby digital plus
R74: Dolby digital plus working properly
V407: no Dolby digital plus
V414: no Dolby digital plus

So only R74 can output property Dolby digital plus

So I've decided to return TV back to shop, V245 firmware keeps showing random vertical lines which requires TV to be unplugged from mains. Thank you all for your help

It's seems to be problem with the V245 build. Related to powering back on using Quick Start. Vertical lines and no image requires a power off to get the image back. You can just install another GTV build like R166 which works fine or just disable the Quick Start option under the Power Menu.

Just read 4pda forum (Russian)....

Yesterday user bought 55C728 model and factory firmware installed is:
V8-T615T03-LF1V300 (Google TV) and with TV received remote control for this system.... (RC902V FMR5 )....

As he don't like Google TV, he flashed to Android 11 (V083 IMG).....haha

No V245...is V254.
Originaly this firmware (V254) is for S546 N.America model, so any diviation in other TV models are normal
and will not be 100% fully functional.

Since last week in some countries C728 and C825 models, selling with Google TV out of box.
On box itself, is cleary stated ...Google TV (no more Android TV).
TCL placed on server V8-T615T03-LF1V414, as official network Auto update.

Hello, does TCL 65P725 (R51MT02, V277) support VRR? Based on Australia and New Zealand specification sheet, it does support the feature, but my TV (bought in the Philippines) isn't showing any setting related to VRR. I'm trying to use it for gaming but the screen tearing is quite terrible.

I recently bought the TCL P725 75" in Australia (local stock from a reputable local seller).

I also bought the Nvidia Shield TV Pro (2019) from the same local seller and a high bandwidth HDMI 2.1 cable to connect the TV and the Shield.

Everything is fine except when I try to play Dolby Vision content on the Shield and I get black screen but with sound. I get the icon "Dolby Vision" at the top but screen is black. I've searched everywhere (including these forums) and noticed some people experience the same issue as me but seems noone's had a 100% guaranteed fix.

Does anyone know anything I could try or just give up and use the TV's native apps to play DV content?

Hi @jedwvv23, is VRR supported on your P725 unit, if yes, how do you enable it? I have one but can't seem to find any information regarding this. Thanks~
