Hello guys!. I got a 65" C715, TV owned in Latinoamerica, PERU. I have many problems especially with low framerates in everything and slow performance in the system. im very confused about what firmware is recomended for my TV and the most safier way to update because worried for my tv region. Can you please help me guys with which one and what method recommended for me? sorry for my bad english UWU.

Hello guys!

Can somebody tell me what is the last firmware with HDR, HLG working as it should.

I'm asking because I tried with v660 and now with v701 firmware and in both picture looks dim (washed out) comparing with SD settings that I have. Update to v660 and after to v701 was OTA. Both times I done reset shop and reset all.

I know that before that wasn't the case, but I can't remember on what firmware I was that HDR and HGL worked as it should.

Would it be different if I flashed with IMG or not? Everything else working fine.

Do you find any way to add dolby vision support for tv's that share same firmware? btw my tv ep640 supports hdr10plus even if it's not listed in specs. but when i tried to play DV files whit supported players like Just Player, image is just pure green or pure purple, but DV logo is triggered in the left corner.

Hello @Gopcarlos

If you want to stay on "official" firmware, consider to upgrade to V660 - Android 9 (stasiof will correct me if i'm wrong).
If you want test/use Android 11, you can upgrade to V701.

To be honest, C715 CPU is a crap. If you want to see "real" speed enhancement for this TV,
- disable bloatware/unnecessary apps with ADB App Control (or manually)
- disable animations
- buy an Android TV box 😒 ?

This a just my feeling ;)

Dolby Audio icon, last working in V625, after that, no visible icon.

No, I haven't. I am still looking for a way to enable Dolby Vision support on my TV. I am inclined to think that such DV setting is only disabled via software and can be enabled via software configuration/hack.

    You see that only characters who do not have the basic knowledge to update the system and hate to read the previous posts appear here, but they torment us with one and the same questions. I don't know I haven't used p114, on my 65c815 dv it looks good on v715. Which option do you use light or dark?

    Got V715 for my TCL 55p715 TV today.
    • Worked for me, not sure if it'll work for you.
    As for tests I've done.
    • None!
    • I use it as a dumb TV mostly as its connected to the Nvidia Shield 24/7, so not sure what quirks it might have, if any.

    5. Insert the USB stick with the correct software (software must be provided by TCL).
    6. Press & hold the power button on the TV (not remote).
    7. Turn on the mains power to the TV (while keeping the power button pressed)
    8. After about 3-5 seconds you will see the upgrade notification on the TV. As soon as you see this, release the power button.
    The TV will now update. Do not disconnect or press any buttons until you see the Google welcome page. The update is now done.

    Was on v701 and was OK id say for the most part but did not feel finished at all, performance not good, bad file system performance, bad UI speed, very good blacks and sharpness, however thats about it.

    Ive gone to v662 now and its quite decent. Way soother in the UI and looks just as good, maybe just a touch less deep blackness

    have had v701 on my 55"P8S for about 3 months and have found no issues at all in performance, definitely better than the android 9 versions preceding it, however no firmware update is going to fix the hardware limitations of the tv itself, but on a "bang for buck" basis TCL is a front runner amongst the bargain basement tv's out there, i also have a top tier Sony led tv and there is no comparison between them, Sony has way better PQ, upscaling etc.

    TCL was less than half the price so my expectations are correspondingly lower, one thing i have found with android TV's in general, they all benefit from a weekly full restart, seems to eliminate a lot of issues that seem to crop up in general use.
