After 10 try i succeeded to download the v252 , i install it and the screen is now normal but android system show an error message, i try to valid the factory reset" but the remote has no action, only power off , if i pushed the up or down button on the remote ( i try with the small and the big remote) there is no action...if i try to force a new firmware installation, i can't push the power button during 12 seconds, it still not work now, i'm blocked, i have less action possible than before... how can i valid a reset factory now? no button on my remote controls has any effect on the choice of the menu presented in the picture

Maybe you can try with the physical button on your TV....

TV physical Off-On button should be at the back or under front LED .....near MIC switch.
Again (third time !), you need to flash IMG file....."Update.img" file must be on USB FAT32.
TV must be Off.... (unplugged from power), press and hold TV power button (and plug power back) until flashing started....

hello, thank you for your message, I performed this maneuver several times but it seems that there is an internal conflict between the "stock" firmware v252 delivered by usb (according to the procedure you describe) and the android data of my google logins not cleared beforehand during the installation of firmware v722... it is not resolvable at my level it seems, I will try your proposal again but it has already failed 6 times. Normally I have to contact TCL France tomorrow morning and we'll see what they offer me. Looks like it would take a full hard reset of all memory in order to start again on a compatible and safe firmware installation.

First of all...did you found TV power button ?
I am really unsure what you doing.

I have called TCL france this morning...a joke! they will not do anything because the warantee is finished, i told them i need a valid european firware or a link and i don't need something else...they give me the only authorized repairer/dealer in my area (more than 300km from my home!!!) I call him and he tells me that no one wants to work with TCL anymore because they are not reliable and they do anything , that the after-sales service is not at all serious and invested... This repairman is very nice and after explaining my case, he tells me that the v252 firmware that I am trying to install is the correct one but not for the correct region /sector of the world (it's a south american I think) and that he can give me the right one (v252.001785 or something like that) I will send him a usb key and he will put me the right file in .IMG and in .zip because it confirms that sometimes the.img is not always accepted by tv. He tells me in case of failure I should contact a specialist near my home and change the motherboard (cost of about 200 euros)
In any case what a shame this TCL brand, no help, zero NEVER AGAIN FOR ME, especially for a tv bought almost 2000 euros when it came out and supposedly the top of the range of the brand!!!! zero update in 4 years, nothing ... this brand is nonsense.

As I told you, I have already carried out this protocol , step by step, more than 7 times precisely as described at each stage and believe that I cannot locate the only physical button (with that of the microphone) of my TV is almost vexing. I am very happy with the valuable and technical help provided by this forum. It does not work by my fault but because of a firmware associated with the wrong geographical region and therefore I could do 1000 times that it would not work better. I nevertheless thank you warmly for your help and your knowledge which are, on this subject, much superior to mine. While waiting for this repairer to send me the compatible Europe/France firmware, I will no longer attempt any technical maneuver on it.

Hi, I've tried a lot of different firmwares but I settled on V715 because it's the best for my TCL P615. But everytime it does an auto update to V722.... Can I disable auto updates? Or disable every update?

What a hell...

I flashed my TV each day to make my soundbar working. I have disabled auto-update, neutralized update app' in settings, i say NO when a popup appears to set up an update. But the TV still update itself without any consentment.

Any way to fix it?

@stasiof told me to block updates from inside the router settings, but he might know exactly what to block

It's a good idea, i can do it easily with my Xiaomi router. Any way to know what domains to block? I cannot find it on Google and MiWifi app refuses domain names with " * ".
Edit : i finally find some of domain names on another @stasiof's post. I blocked everything but it's not enough, the device keeps updating


Another temporary fix : i let my usb stick on TV with the 715 version firmwarre OTA, in order to flash TV and restore sound without having to install/set up all applications (IMG file reset all settings, not OTA)

I'm pretty sure that with the USB you're receiving, you will also need to find the POWER button to flash it. It worth to look for it, and then you can try to flash ANY IMG file for your model that you find here.

Lay your TV on a flat surface and look at the bottom. It should be there.

I have a 65C815 which is a 2020 model if im not mistaken.

im on latest android 9 version 662. is it worth upgrading to 722?

will it affect the tv speed? The current version im on is quite fast and fluid when navigating

the only problem i notice is that tv straggling abit on fast moving scenes ie sports events and im puzzled as it is supposed to be equipped with a 100Hz display
