No need another person assist you.....and unplug cable from power socket.
TV can be OFF ,by long press Off on remote control, pop up wiil appear on TV ,asking to TV be Off.
I think, you didn't read this thread, as is many times explain how to flash/update firmware.

Was not aware you owned this forum and content?
An unplug from wall socket is not necessary just switch it off at wall to kill all power.
Have updated my TCL 65P8M many times and long press on remote does not work for an image, indeed even you over at Whirlpool forum say to long press on TV on/off button.

The Media Center of v701 or v715 is insufferably terrible. Slow performance in opening folders, small subtitle font without the possibility to the change it or move in the lower black bars, for future updates, revert the images back to the original Media Center that wasn't great, but at least it was working quickly. I will regret for the rest of my life buying TCL in the first place.

Got V715 for my TCL 55p715 TV today.

• Worked for me, not sure if it'll work for you.

As for tests I've done.

• None!
• I use it as a dumb TV mostly as its connected to the Nvidia Shield 24/7, so not sure what quirks it might have, if any.

1. Click the link above.
2. Select "Download".
3. Once the download is done, transfer the file to an empty USB stick with a FAT32 format. (Do not unzip)

Once the file has been transferred to the USB stick proceed with the following steps:

4. Turn the TV off (main power off).
5. Insert the USB stick with the correct software (software must be provided by TCL).
6. Press & hold the power button on the TV (not remote).
7. Turn on the mains power to the TV (while keeping the power button pressed)
8. After about 3-5 seconds you will see the upgrade notification on the TV. As soon as you see this, release the power button.
The TV will now update. Do not disconnect or press any buttons until you see the Google welcome page. The update is now done.

Terrible IMAGE, absolute garbage, just like the TV EC780 that I have.

I following arround 6-7 forums arround the world and no major complain,about latest version.
I running also V715 and after some trimming, I have no major issue about.
It's not 100% perfect, but is also not that bad.
Edit:
I will never buy TV, if I don't know what I buying.
I paid 450 Euro for my C715 and I can't expect to be like LG C2.

@stasiof So I have a NA 55S434 and read some replies saying that it cannot be flashed. But I see that global variants of this device have the same chipset the R851T02. Is there a reason that I cannot update to the newest V715 version available. Did they lock up flashing files that way for NA. I'm new to Android TV and been flashing ROMs on my devices so I could possibly figure something out. Maybe a region conversion tool similar to how other Devs use the MSM tool from OnePlus to change from other regions to Global ROM

Post your firmware installed on TV.
Firmware for S series (America version) is a bit different.
Last posted in this thread is V8-R851T02-LF1V458.018656 .
Any version with V4xx is native for S434.
Btw,
you can try other versions (V662 or V715), but is not 100% compatible.
To install back your native version, you will need V3xx IMG file and update with V458.

Disable, not delete......attached.
If you use local player, don't disable. I disable also YouTube ,as using SmartTube Next.
Also be sure you have Google Play services v.21.42.18 (180306).....Android 11+ installed and not v.xx.xx.xx (080306) for Android 5.0.
And all other apps update to latest version.

After installing the V715 firmware and in Google Play Store settings forcing an upgrade (a new version of Play Store will be installed), shouldn't that be enough rather than sideloading the most recent Play Store for Android TV?

Secondly, is there so much better gain in performance to disable the App throught ADB than just disabled it throught Settings, App in Android?
