Just updated my tegra note 7 to lollipop in the morning and it's running quite fluent as of now.
I followed these steps:-

1.
Factory reset my tab before downloading update .
2. Done basic setup without adding my Google account
3. downloaded update which took about 30 minutes to download.
4. after selecting install it took about 15 minutes to install and complete boot process and optimising of apps.
5. this time also I completed basic setup without adding Google account and waited it to settle down for 10 minutes and than again factory reset it by going in settings menu.
6. waited for it to complete the erase process and than complete the boot process ,only thing was noticeable this time was this time it took about 10 min approx in exiting of boot than bringing up to setup which was longer than previous
7. complete setup process by adding Google account and deselecting restore option.

It's been a complete day now with normal usage and battery was pretty impressive ,only got some heat issue for 20 min when my tablet was kept idle followed with battery drain, but was solved automatically without doing anything.
And in evening when I was installing apps from my pen drive I hanged it , think that was my fault I touched on five apps back to back for installation at same time. So I rebooted to fix that
