you can buy the chinese-brand tegra note for 283 USD (free world-wide shipping) in pandawill

I found this but there is no source so who knows if its true or not...The HP slate7 extreme is just a rebranded tetra note so maybe the tegra note isn't getting released till the HP variant is out. HPs website also says November

Just wait for some more time as its getting ready for the launch in UK, see this http://tech.uk.msn.com/news/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=258242211 and there are more similar posts available that hints close to 15th November. There will be more from different brands in different regions soon :)
Yea i saw that as well hp has the slate 7 extreme and the hp slate 8 pro which is what I'll get. Both will have teg 4 so im patiently waiting

I'm still in the air between the tegra or the HP slate 8 pro. Inch bigger and 2 gbs of ram. But its branded HP and I hate HP lol

I was gonna give HP a try...however, the reason i didn't because, NVIDIA has stated they are doing the updates for EVGA and PNY. they didn't mention HP, so i'm guessing HP may be doing their own updates.

So in the end i'd rather stick with EVGA version (PNY hasn't announced anything...their loss).

Also, if you're wanting an 8", I'd definitely wait...I have a feeling Logan will be on an 8-10" coming next year soon.

Maybe silly question but does it have GPS?

I have pre-ordered it from PC world:
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/lapto...a-tegra-note-7-tablet-16-gb-21812495-pdt.html

Still their web page stays silent on GPS and when I have asked them directly I got the answer that is doesn't have GPS.

Still all reviews of this tabled I read mentioned GPS on-board.
Also I believe (maybe wrongly) that this is just one device manufactured somewhere in China and then being sold by thousands to different re-sellers all over the world thus I doubt that PC world would go extra mile to order their "handicap" version stripped of GPS?

as a support my speculation Advent is being listed as one of the version of Tegra Note in UK:
http://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2013/11/12/tegra-note-pre-order/

I really hope that the lady who replies to my question from PC world was wrong :)

Preordered mine off newegg as well. If the hp slatebook x2 is any indication of how HPs tablets perform, I'd stay away. Lots of overheating issues. Do you know if Newegg's preorder means it's going to ship November 19 or deliver?

It's got GPS. Anandtech's review does say it has GPS.

to be honest, i haven't ordered anything from NewEgg for the last 7 years. I DO hope that i get it on the 19th, and it doesn't ship on the 19th.

I bit the bullet and preordered.

I've been looking to upgrade from my launch day Kindle Fire(1)(Unlocked and flashed with CM10.2) since the Nexus 7 (2012) released but never got around to it. I was planning on getting the Nexus 7(2013) this winter, but then Newegg had to go and show me the preorder for this.

I've read every review I can find, and while I see they are mixed, with most people saying the Tegra is good, but for most people the Nexus is better.

To me the lower price, and the microSD were the key selling points. The screen resolution doesn't bug me (I'm not a videophile, and I don't use a tablet for movie watching). While I'd prefer more ram (Who wouldn't), anything is better than the 512mb I'm working with now.
I also use my kindle heavily for gaming, pushing it beyond it's limits quite often. (It was an amazing device, Shame Amazon tried to cripple it so) so the more powerful processor is a major plus.
And maybe I'm strange, but I miss having a stylus. I think it will be nice to have the option to use one when I want. Particularly since they appear to work so well.

Can't wait for them to start shipping :D

anyone get their tegra note yet? NewEgg, giving the run-a-round

---------- Post added at 02:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:53 PM ----------

Just got off the phone with NewEgg, had to speak with the Supervisor, since CSR can't do much. basically the shipment to Newegg got delayed. I got an email from them stating it'll be shipped out on Nov 21. So tomorrow. I'll be waiting for that tracking #.

i don't understand why they would show "SOLD OUT" on their website, makes me think i got booted back in line (i pre-ordered on Nov 12, 1st day available for pre-order). on top of that, someone on EVGA's forum stated their order shipped but no tracking # (Username BF3PRO). another customer stated their credit card was already charged but order was still pending.

I just received an email from Newegg. From the sent time it looks like they started sending them yesterday, and it took that long to process.

They confirm that the shipments were late, that they should be able to get them out tomorrow, and that they are giving a free upgrade to Next day. Considering I used their super saver, get's there someday shipping, that was a nice plus.

My Note shipped this morning. Just got the tracking number and it should be here tomorrow. So they are finally going out.

They are also back in stock at Newegg for people who didn't preorder.

Received mine today.
No dead pixels, no creaking, and everything appears to work well.

One thing of note. In several articles about the Tegra note, the reviewers mention (as a con) that the left side of the tablet has an uncomfortable groove running the length of it to hold the cover. On the release version the groove is filled with a blank, so that problem is solved.

One thing I didn't like. The included usb cable is a bit too short for my current desk layout, and it is quite stiff. The power block is also a bit big, and with a USB plugged into the face it sticks out almost 3 inches from the outlet. Minor things really, that can be fixed by buying a different adapter.
