Hijacking this thread since its a bit related. I use my OUYA as an XBMC machine and i got sick of the hairdryer of a fan so i disassembled the OUYA and disconnected it. I peak at 68 Celsius if i run 1080 x264 hi bit rate and idle is at 45 Celsius, this is pretty harmless right?

Yup these temps are far away from being harmful..

Is there an app I can install to get the temp readings?

This app show you actual temperature.
I have stock fan power from DC and slower fan speed, it runs at same speed all the time and second 8cm fan under OUYA. Idle is 32 - 33°C and after two times Epic citadel benchmarking and turn off the second fun for stop cooling, this app shows 44°C.
I'm ready for EPRJ kernel, Kholk told me he is running on the kernel at 2GHz CPU and 700MHz GPU.

I didn't get you. Max Temperature of CPU? You mean Critical Threshold of chip? It is nearly 90C (nearly all devices shut down if this is reached) if this is what you asked for.
.. Hi Kingshoo .. EP kernel is out .. can you throw tegra clock that support EP kernel ..

since gpu clock is up to 2gh & gpu 650mhz .. and .. need to display correct temp ..

.. Thanks for your great support for our device :D .. cheers

Yup surely. Just saw the kernel yesterday. Will start working on that ASAP. Let me know how is the kernel? BTW anyone from you guys tried yet?? Cool at 1080p or still there are stutters here and there?

.. the kernel is nice .. but there is some stability problem .. reboot & flicker .. [email protected] forum find some nice trick .. change governor to Performance seems to make system more stable ..

.. kholk plan to down it to 1.7ghz .. gpu clock max 650mhz .. downclock maybe to make it more bootable & than we can overclock it by apps ..

.. so .. Tegra overclock can boost it back to 2ghz at will :D ..

The New kernel is AMAZING, it makes the system SUPER responsive and i haven't notice any lag/shutters when the clock speeds are tweaked a lil bit... There's some issues with the kernel like realhuh said (reboots and screen flickering) but over at EB kernel forum i i've done some testing of my own and managed to stabilize the system...

I switched to Performance as suggested elsewhere with the new Kernel and the only problem I've had is a reluctance of the device to go into sleep mode. Apart from that it appears to work fine, although I did have it clocked to the same speed as the default kernel. (actually came lower in Antutu for the same clockspeed!)

There's a new update for the device today so no doubt someone will soon repack that kernel and jobs a good un! (you will need to reinstall the EP Bootloader!)

Thanks for response! I'm completely bone stock factory ouya with one click root app. kernal is stock as well
First tell me where you are freezing. I mean when you press ok or on opening the app.. Also note that on every update we loose root and needs to use that one click root app again! so use that one more time and ensure you are rooted then tell me if TO app still freezes..

Right after I took the updates, I rooted again.Status says "rooted". I then went into the Tegra OC app - clicked the default optimize button, and a weird screen tear went across the screen and it froze. So I hard booted. Booted back up, went into the tegra oc app again, and did the same thing and it froze again, waited for about 2 mins and it made a weird noise like the menu noise , but no response.

This sounds strange.. I can't test it on stock as I flashed stockplus rom and default kernel.
