@Eyedoctor2
Just curious what it is you like about Beyond XBMC that Gotham doesn't do better?

I'm wondering if I'm missing something because I know they mention they have video acceleration implemented, but as far as I know, LibStagefright alone (without MediaCodec) is the trick for the Ouya and Gotham v13 Betas are running better than Frodo v12 on the Ouya, by a longshot IMHO.

From your post history I got the feeling you had tried both so I thought I'd check to get an idea of where Beyond XBMC might be better?

Thanks in advance!

I must admit that Beta 3 of Gotham is giving Beyond a run for its money. Bottom line is that eveything just works. It is very nicely organized and basic addons are already included.

For early XBMC users it's a great way to start.

Latest update to Ouya firmware (chupuacabra 04/16/14) appears to have broken Tegra Overclock, at least for me. I can't get the app to open. I get an immediate force close.

I got you there, I was just curious what works "better" with Beyond XBMC, because I have yet to find anything that runs better on Ouya than the latest Gotham Beta-4 Nightlties http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/android/arm/

I'm always amazed when people talk about adding plug-ins or wanting a pre-packaged distro with plug-ins, because in my experience, there is nothing easier than adding new apps to XBMC.

In short for purposes of summarization, if I understand you correctly, there isn't really anything beneficial to Beyond XBMC that is not in Gotham, except the inclusion of some plug-ins?

Thanks again for the reply to help me sort it out!

No you are not. Ever since the last Ouya firmware I can't even open the app. It force closes every time.

I have installed CM 11 and hence I cannot see what is wrong with the new firmware. can you send me a logcat log? Just note the exact time in your device and open any logcat reader, open Tegra Overclock ouya edition then when it crashes open the logcat reader and stop it. Send me every line of log between this time and I will fix this in no time :)

Curious, how does CM11 on the Ouya improve the user experience?
For now it ruins my experience :p

Well the controller don't work the way it used to be in games and the OUYA button does nothing. I guess you can imagine how its like to play a game with partial controller broken. BUT since some people like it so updated just in case.

So I assume you are going back to stock, is that correct?
I will have to forcefully. For some reason the custom kernel form Eternity Project never worked for me. It just make my OUYA unbootable so can't provide any update on it and this CM 11 is pretty much useless at least for me as its just Android and no OUYA element in it.

BUT there is a good news. The new OUYA will have same hardware and hopefully someone might be able to update the device to newer versions. For now I will be back on the stock latest update as there are really few who are using custom stuff..
