There's a guide out there about getting Glitch ROM and CM7 on the Telus T959 too. I read about the 2 roms and I don't really see the advantage/disadvantage of Darky's rom.

Anyone tried both care to comment?

edit: Glitch is the underlying "kernel" for the CM7 "rom". Glitch is not meant to be used as a stand-alone.

Having tried both, it all depends on what you want from your phone. While the following aren't exact details, they're what I considered significant between the two roms.

CM7 is AOSP-based
Pros
- Bluetooth controllers work (PS3 Dualshock, Wiimote, etc)
- Excellent performance, better than darky
Cons
- wonky GPS
- no 720p playback (too lazy to convert)
- a ***** to install (for first-timers)

Darkys is Samsung-based
Pros
- Great battery-life
- video player plays 720p mkvs with no problem
- usable GPS
- ridiculously easy to install (RE version, ie Odin/Heimdall)
Cons
- No Bluetooth controllers

What it really comes down for me is the GPS and video playback. I might try out CM7 again in the future once I start downloading 480p videos and the GPS gets better. Can't pass up the DualShock3 support!

Thanks for sharing!

Question, when you say "No Bluetooth controllers", do you mean that Bluetooth will not work?

Because I have no problems connecting my phone to computer via bluetooth.

Bluetooth does work, as I have been able to use my ps3 bluetooth headset on it for calls.

But there's a missing bluetooth driver from samsung based roms that makes the phone unable to pair up with bluetooth controllers such as the wiimote or the dualshock3. Sure, it only works with certain apps and emulators, but its still nice to have.

Hi people
I'm from Brazil and after upgrading my Telus Galaxy S (T959) with Darky's 10.2, in some areas I can get no signal.
With my other phone (Milestone), I fixed this using the recovery app (like Clockmodwork) changing the baseband setting, but in Galaxy baseband is a big 4mb file (modem).
Can somebody help me changing this baseband?

What I really want is to use stock gingerbread rom, from Telus.
But KIES says my phone is not compatible.
Does anybody know where to download the stock rom? or 2.2 so I can upgrade via KIES?

Nice!!

Hi guys, first off, i'd like to say thanks and this is awesome. I was really amazed when 2.3 got out and figured they'd have reprogrammed the audio chip (wich they didn't and kindda pissed me off).anyways, I really appreciated voodoo sound for froyo and was looking for a 2.3 rom that had it!! You're my savior.... I guess :p.but I had a question, could this be flashed through rom manager (or an app of that sort)? I'm curently running stock 2.3.3 + root on my t959d.In the hopes of an answer.... Thanks iwebsource for jumpin' eyes closed into this, I have the feeling we ain't alone :p

You may want to try this to get back to 2.2 stock, and then upgrade to 2.3

Maybe 10.2.2 instead of 10.3?

Hi - been lurking on Darky's boards - and seems that the new 10.2.2 is going to replace 10.3 - I do not have a firm grasp on the different editions they have but anyone care to comment on that?

I'm downloading 10.2.2 now and likely will go from 10.2 to that release.

I'm actually unsure of the differences between Darky 10.2.2 and 10.3.

What I would recommend is to stay with there Stable versions of Darky just to be safe.

I initially installed Darky 10.2, then installed 10.3 which was a Beta. I have never had any problems with 10.3 but if 10.2.2 is going to replace 10.3 then I will be sticking with the stable versions from now on.

I'm currently waiting for my USB Jig to be delivered.. I hate waiting..

If you have a spare cord you can make your own. A friend of mine did that and he was able to recover his phone that way.

Sent from my SGH-T959D using XDA App

I flashed stock 2.3.5 JVS then Dark Core 4.0
Do this only if you have usb jig (on i9000 bootloader you cant enter download mode using buttons)
