Voodoo Lagfix just works for this phone (T959D)

Has anyone installed the Voodoo lagfix? I read some instructions please confirm if these work.
Root Super 1 click
Put Voodoo in root of sd card
Flash kernel using SGS Kernel flash
Delete disable lagfix from voodoo directory

Also does this give any better battery life and does the gps work any better?

Thanks
Okay so I did actually go ahead with the above method and I gotta say it worked like a charm. The phone is faster and more responsive. The only thing I found that was a bit of a hassle was that my lock 2.0 seemed to mess up the pull down for notifications but no biggie. Overall I am very pleased.

Thanks Supercurio for this kernel.

BTW didn't have to delete the disable Voodoo, I checked and it wasn't there. Also this does install Clockwork recovery and that also works.....

Hey guys I have the T959D and tried this method, then wanted to use a different rom so flashed back to 2.2 with an i9000 kernel. Now my phone says its model is i9000 and I can't enter download mode with the regular button press or through adb. My phone is working with MIUI, but I want to be able to access download mode and have the chance to go back to stock 2.2. Any ideas on how I can do this? Thank you very much.
To force download mode, regardless of bootloader, kernel, or rom:

remove battery
attach USB cable to phone and computer
hold VOLUP + VOLDN
insert battery

Voila! Download mode. I'm pretty sure this works the same way as the jig.

Oh, I meant for miui 1.9.23. I've tried doing the root explorer trick but no avail, the phone isn't recording the button presses at all on 1.9.23
Do you mean all your soft-keys aren't working? Home/Search not doing anything?

I may be remembering wrongly when I was in CM7 (pretty similar to MIUI), but you need to modify a different file than /system/usr/keylayout/melfas_touchkey.kl Open up the different .kl files to see what the layout is like.

Key-codes may be different but the process to change them should be same.

No, its literally not picking it up. As in, the keys are not being detected under 1.9.23 no matter what I install.

EDIT: IT WORKS! FINALLY! I HAVE THIS INSTALLED: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17893986&postcount=3529

THANKS TO zacharias.maladroit

Somebody should create a new guide/update the old ones, because they are far outdated, and the new miuis change stuff thats incompatible with older kernels.

Can I flash MIUI rom for vibrant(T959) or I9000 with this method? I'm currently on Darky RE gingerbread JVT Dark Core 4.1 kernel.

I had been running CM7 for a while on my wife's Telus Fascinate. About to weeks ago I put a nightly build of CM9 on he phone but it shuts down in the night when it's done charging. Anyone have a fix for this? Not sure which version of CM9 it is or if there is a common problem with this?
