I just did an RMA Monday, they received my phone today and I have yet to receive any tracking info stating they sent one. By chance did this happen to u?

That command is for locking the bootloader

Critical was left open in the p2 version on a specific build of early this year. They fixed it the next build. If you are on somewhere around March oreo update unlock critical may work. You can read earlier in the many unlock threads about this.

Those look, to me, exactly like the instructions for unlocking the non-verizon. I doubt it'll work but you can try.

I'm sending my pixel 2 XL RMA because it has been super laggy since the pie update. Maybe just maybe . .. I will get lucky and get a Google version back . The agent I spoke with told me I would be getting a better device , so who knows might get a Google version or a pixel 3 . My luck probably going to get a downgrade to the Nexus 5 LOL

Been paying attention to the boards for a few weeks.

I got a warranty replacement device due to screen burn-in. If the device has had a SIM card in it, booted and connected to the network I believe the bootloader will not perm unlock. Temp - the toogle will work but nothing is actually happening. Unless the prerequisites are done and then inserting the SIM. My device is a Verizon Pixel 2 XL. It was on the July 5th update. I was just messing around not really expecting it to work..but it did.

I'll try this out Tuesday..I'm getting mine replaced after a black dot about half an inch long came out on the screen

I'm on pie,I was able to factory reset with no sim in the tray,but empty tray inserted skipped all set up,ran the adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.andriod.phone,got success in terminal, enabled WiFi and the OEM toggle became live,I could restart,reboot,added my account restarted toggle stayed blue untill i went into fastboot mode,every time it said flashing not allowed then the toggle was back to grey and off again.

Same thing happened to me when I was in Pie. Must have tried 100 variations of that way to do it and every tutorial online

@bobby janow: Hopefully the mods will step in and close it. It's outlived its usefulness.

I'm homophobic. I suggest you leave our branch. You don't write anything useful. But just want to close the topic and destroy hope for people. After all, you don't Verizon. What are you doing in there?

Fraudulent warranty claims are against the rules and do add to the cost of devices, so it does hurt everyone
