Luckily I use a Titanium backup schedule that runs a back up everyday.
So all is not lost!
However, i would loose that day's work, which is a pain, but... it could be worse lol
This is also a reason why I refuse to buy a phone with no external memory card slot..... which seems to be where the trend of anti-intellectualism and populism is taking us.

Somewhere in southern Germany
I wish I saw this before sending my G4 in for repair.....
My G4 serial number 609 started bootlooping yesterday.
Bloody marvelous, as one might think that LG would have rectified the problems for boards manufactured AFTER they admitted the hardware issue.
Have you already contacted LG?
Is there the possibility that your G4 still will repaired for free?

I got my G4 back a few days ago from the repair.
The board was exchanged for free.
Everything works fine again.

That I do not know, but I highly doubt it because my bootloader is unlocked.
I sent the phone to a chinese phone store for cpu replacement.
Will report back after I get it back.
They were very quick at repairing it. the repair was done on the same day....
It is the shipping that is taking absolutely forever.

That's why I'm happy to live in Europe ;)
Bootloader unlock is no reason for reject here..

Hello.
Thanks for the detailed guide. I have a stock G4 (t-mobile), started the bootloop issue some time last year and it was in my drawer ever since. I came across your guide and thought I should give it a shot. I followed all your steps, and here's what happened: (attached the picture, wasn't displaying here for some reason)

After that, I disconnected my phone from PC, pulled the battery out, put it back in and turned on the phone. Now I get "ERROR CODE 1009" on LG screen.
Any idea what that could be?

Thank you.

Can we have modified kernel for 20p?or is it easy to modify it myself?
I can do that tomorrow maybe. Link the kdz you flashed or tell me the device model at least.
Everything can be done on your own if you want. you need to extract the kdz to get the boot image and then need to use bootimgtools to modify the commandline.

Can I also flash the 4 core boot image via LGUP?

Do you also have tot file version of the 4 core boot image for h811 20p?

Thanks in advance
No LG up.

I see now the OP says its for unlocked devices only. Guess im out of luck lol ?
If you still can get into the download mode you can restore to stock with LG up

if this is not your productive device anymore and if you wanna help to get the unofficial unlock ready.. Let me know

This is not my everyday use device anymore. I've been away for a while now from rooting etc. So can you please let me know what are the things I need to do? Or maybe links to the posts?
I just tried booting into download mode, and it does work.

Thank you.
