so as op said do not mess with boot or recov partition remeber u still have locked bootloader
but this opens doors for say on ls991 stock based zv6 roms as long as when theyre made and flashed u use the stock zv6 kernal or i would assume flash any said in my case lolipop rom only and restore orig boot partitions will test this therory out to see if i trip the lg sigs and get secure boot errors
It opens the door to any custom ROM u want to build. LOS, RR , ...

tbh i re-wrote 90% of it and added some other ideas but without your try i may had given up! It directed me to the correct path to do that :) many thanks! :highfive:

This sounds awesome. Give this man his bounty when this is all over. If my G4 wasn't my daily driver I'd contribute to the cause as well

I'm new to efidroid and never used multirom before but both give the possibility to install other OS on another partition. thats why i work on the efidroid port as well..
Both can be booted by FIsH..

Confirmed to work devices (as of 2017-03-14):

  • H815 International - unlocked (Thanks @steadfasterX yea its mine and i have no locked device to test with ;) That's why i needed ur help. but i test without touching the boot chain so its similar to locked devices.)
  • LS991 Sprint - locked (Thanks @TheMadScientist420)
  • H815T - locked (Thanks @the_naxhoo)

Important note regarding the SuperSU requirement:
You HAVE TO install SuperSU >=v2.76! I will provide a patched version which ensure that it does not harm your boot partition (@ the beta testers: it is in the same location. Flash it with flashfire or similar).

Where are the H818 , H812, G4-whatever users??? ;)

I am h818p user but I am new to this.if its safe I can test this to my mobile.

Sent from my LG-H818 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
safe is only the death ;)

but serious: The installer supports Linux only atm (Windows users could use FWUL) and u have to take the risk of a soft brick nevertheless.
The chances of a bootloop are very low but I cannot guarantee for anything.
You should know what adb is
you should be able to install Teamviewer for advanced support when required
and be able to log in to the IRC support channel i will provide to you (easy web browser access)

If u feel comfortable with all this write me a PM with subject "FIsH".

Hi, interesting your approach in this work. We thinking it's possible to apply in model LG G Flex 2?

Enviado desde mi LG-H950 mediante Tapatalk
Without going too much into detail:
tbh it will work on ANY device from ANY vendor as long as the pre-requiremens written in the OP are met.
and you have to build your own TWRP version for your device.
That's all :)

For the details i will release a porting guide.

Can I ask for the SuperSU version? It have to be 2.76 or higher than 2.76 version (including 2.76)???

Installation of TWRPinFIsH of H812 ...

Hey not sure if this is still relevant but I'm able to get into Download mode into my H812 using a slightly different method than the one I tried originally. If I just power the phone down completely and hold Vol-up and plug the cable into the computer (don't push power) it boots into Download Mode. I wasn't able to see any connected devices in fastboot but I have to play with it and see if I have the correct drivers installed - I was able to use LGUP to flash a KDZ but not sure the difference.

See photo below - the text in the small box at the bottom isn't visible due to crappy camera on my tablet but it's "USER G70"
Hello ReeS86: I see you confirmed that TWRPinFIsH is working on your H812. Have you run into any issues since you have installed it? If so, would appreciate knowing what they were and if you were able to resolve them. I meet all the requirements for installation on my rooted Fido H81210N and would appreciate confirmation and input from someone who has "been there, done that" on the same phone.
Thanks,S.

No issues to report however you should check out the topic in G4 Android Development that is a couple posts above yours. There is more info on what works and what doesn't. You have to be careful not to flash or modify anything related to the recovery, boot or kernel. This includes any recovery or custom ROMs.
