Those pdfs from that site don't look like they're from the manufacturer.

For Kia, and I believe Hyundai too, they have a site where you can register for a fee. Different fees for different lengths of time. For Kia it's called KGIS. I think it may be only for North American models but I think there are others internationally and some may apply across the board. I signed up for 72 hours to get schematics and photographs of Wiring and connections on my 2012 Kia Sorento.

That way there's no question about pinout. As for your model, I would think that a 2016 model would use a Canbus module. That may explain why steering wheel controls don't work. Proper schematics would tell you for sure.

No, it's definitely not canbus. Please see my YouTube video linked below.
I'm a control systems engineer, but I'm more into Industrial plant Modbus, Devicenet, EthernetIP, etc ; not canbus and I would never claim to be an efficient auto-elec. But, I can work out what's happened.

The PDF's are based on the website, with verification by myself (again see video). They aren't the final version, but once I have completely worked out all the wiring involved in this project and my specific car, I'll report for others to reference.

I have previously been supplied wiring diagrams by multiple suppliers on many types of equipment, and found errors.

Hi just bought my 85yr old mother in-law's 2017 Kia Sorento, with the understanding that my wife will be using it to transport the old folks in it as they grow more dependent on us. I would like to put a proper head unit in it for my wife to enjoy, as it has the bottom tier factory system and no rear camera etc.

I don't see any "kit" offerings from any of the usual suspects. Have you a recommendation for a type/manufacturer of head unit that will likely work this with vehicle? My 2005 Jetta wagon has PX5/QD unit I installed several years ago and I do have some buyer's remorse as wiring it was a bit of a kludge and the OS/Apps are pretty crappy.

Thanks for kindly posting the wiring debug, you saved me a lot of time. I'm a scientific computing / research support engineer and not a car audio expert, but like you I am thankful my training and experience are a help in muddling my way through things. Hopefully I can return the favour to you.

Not sure why you are posting in this thread and not main thread. The aus seller has already stated he will not help aliexpress buyers although with his lack of interest lately it probably applies to all purchasers.

What main thread?

And, yes he has dropped support by the looks. Obviously his profits came from direct purchasing from the Aussie warehouse.

Shame, but I'll pursue the issue via aliexpress

There is no 'aussie warehouse'. The aussie is an affiliate / dropshipper.

Don't be fooled by their glowing marketing, they are NOT a authentic- or trusted brand. Neither are the other FYT seller, so buyer becareful

Yes, I've clearly learnt that. Feeling a bit burnt.

But it's still an amazing piece of kit. I'm researching the CANBUS concept. Got some equipment coming, but unfortunately I have to do some FIFO work shortly to pay for all my gadgets. So time is limited.

Hello,

I've recently purchased a CC3 package for F150 (via AliExpress and regretting that already) but your site mentioned a potential issue with the OEM (Sony) Amplifier if installed, says if there are issues to connect the Blue Can-Amp wire to the Orange Can-Detect but I can't find a reference that mentions the Can-Detect, can you help with that? Support is spotty at best via the Russian people which seem to be responsible for AliExpress purchases.

Thank you

Hi guys..

I know this isn't "hardware development" related (sort of) but I'm not exactly sure where to post as this is in relation to hardware but not exactly??!?!!

I'm looking for a 10" surround for a right hand drive Kia Rio to fit a 10" version of the CC3.

I know they're only showing a 9" unit but I own a Kia Rio UB, which according to t'eyes is 2011-2015. And I have seen that there is plenty of room behind the face of the dash to fit a 10" quite easily.. I have even estimated the space it would need on the face itself and it's like 1.25 cm either side of the original hole that the new fascia would be replacing and honestly the more real estate for apps and navigation the better I say..

I'm not willing to go all "Tesla style" as I want to keep the "factory look and unless there is some polymorphic face that can change between landscape and portrait, I ain't having it.

If this is in the wrong area, either delete or move to appropriate area and delete this post and notify me..

Thankyou in kind and in advance.

P.s if you need photos for clearance and exact measurements, let me know.

I don't have a headunit and aren't willing to pruchase a 10" unit without the proper support.. but perhaps help in designing a new fascia for a 10" unit to fit like a boss.

Also there is a factory aux plug and USB port I'd love to keep functionality of or replace with a "factory looking setup where I can add a Sim card, and the spare USB and aux plug replacement.. would be smooth to have the factory position and be able to plug in my phone to charge whilst bluetoothing to save phone being flat when I get out of the car and utilise other USBs for GPS and 4G internet inside the dashboard.

Also I'm not sure on this.. but I saw the ownice k7 has interior lighting app and a fast charging USB port which I would love to adapt to the CC3 if that is at all possible.. having like 2 3 or even upto 5A charging for phone would be ideal.

Any ideas?

.

I thought maybe if it was an easy one and it involved their web site, long shot.
TEYES.COM.AU is not T'eyes

Danny Jabbour is just a sole trader (" Dandoon Trading") over in Kiara, Western Australia. Who has registered the teyes.com.au domain address.

From details I've heard in here, and productreview.com.au I'm guessing he's got enough stress from the units he resells. And I can understand that.

Now I know he is West Coast I understand why a couple East Coast people complained about delivery time. China -> Perth -> Sydney would take a bit longer than normal.

It also sounds like he has fixed a couple issues too for his own clients, which is better than the progress I am getting Teyes Chinese and Russian support for Aliexpress.

He was allowed to start this thread on the pretense of providing support to all. He soon realised how buggy the units are and got overwhelmed. Good intentions or free advertising?
"Now I know he is West Coast I understand why a couple East Coast people complained about delivery time. China -> Perth -> Sydney would take a bit longer than normal.". Except he drop ships straight from China no Perth involved.

A humbling experience this is.. marchnz is going to enjoy it.

I found the fault. A loose pin in the supplied kia connector.
When I used my flash multimeter I must have been push enough to make contact with the steering wheel circuit resistance.
Plug it into the AHU, and it would go open circuit.

I only found it because I managed to loosen the single USB pins for the factory USB.

Cheers

Australian Warehouse hahaha really cracks me lol.

Dan is just an unauthorised reseller and pretends he works at Teyes and also he provides so much misleading information.

I spent extra to buy from AliExpress and avoid this guy

Also, he's on Facebook Teyes page as a girl and only there to say good things about Dan

Maybe if I offered payment for help, I'm expecting an issue with the OEM Sony Sound system versus the standard speakers and the Russian and Chinese TEyes support have been useless and largely unresponsive for even simple questions

He is a reseller. He has no more knowledge than you will find on the forums. He also has no better contacts in Teyes than you or I. Better off spending your money elsewhere.
Have you tried to directly contact him by email. A lot of what is on his site is copied from other forums so he may not have complete details.

Does the app get installed on the CC3 or your phone?
    On my phone 😁
    1
Unfortunately not available on the Australian Play Store
I had to get the APK from apkpure and you should be good to go.

I have a CC3 purchased around June 2021 which is running firmware from late April 21.
I am considering upgrading the firmware to the latest October release hoping it may be a bit better but I also do not want to create a headache for myself either. I assume anything already not Teyes installed and working will not be touched.

Any thoughts on whether upgrading CC3 firmware is likely to be a good idea or not?

If everything is fine I wouldn't bother upgrading. I had the issue of the 3d model of the car not rendering in the 360 panorama app so I thought I'd update but I still have the same issue. It works when in reverse though.

    @TEYESAustralia

When i do the FOTA it said I'm up to date with my software, but on the website it say's "Latest version time:20.10.2022"

My CC3 say's Version date :15.01.2022, am i reading it right?

    Thank you
yes a few UUIDs haven't been pushed to them. You can update via the USB method

    @TEYESAustralia

I have upgraded to 20.10.2022 version can i replace the blue tooth player with the Poweramp player?

Can't work out how to do it.

    View attachment 5764615

The description of the new firmware (Oct. 22) states that the main interface music widget now supports multiple music players. i.a. power amp
To do this, you have to press the cloud icon (HU must be online) in the music app longer and then you get to a sub-menu where you can select the appropriate player.
So far so good, unfortunately this does not change the wiget on the main screen, at least not for me. Also, I'm not sure if all the Poweramp settings are effective?
I hope that helps a bit.

The OP had a discussion with us and it was decided that he will not be permitted to sell here but offer technical support only. So anything connected to prices, comparisons with other units/manufacturers etc will be outside the understanding.

Guys, why don't we take him at face value and see whether he is offering support or not? I agree that the reputation of resellers has taken a beating but why don't we give him a chance? Even if he is able to resolve some issues of atleast some users, his being on XDA would be justified.

I hope you all understand that it was in the interest of the users that it was decided to permit him to operate here.

Can we have an admin corroborate if this is true? We don't need the details of what was talked about, just whether the above is true. Also, I found a picture of the Teyes engineering team discussing all mentioned software issues.

Hello all, TEYES Australia is now online. The audience is not just Australia but a more western audience.

XDA members are thorough in their questions and suggestions. Any value adding advice for the site would be greatly appreciated.

We are working on expanding the accessory range - what do you think adds value?

    {Mod edit: Quoted post has been deleted}

I'm an Australian buyer who has just purchased and received a CC3 through Teyes Australia. I sent Dan from Teyes Australia numerous emails with questions and he always answered within hours. I never expected that he would stock in Australia the thousands of possible wiring and facia kits. His contact details and phone number are all over the Teyes Aus website.

One of the main concerns I had was the facia for my 2017 Kia Soul. There are two available and the one for the Australian spec Soul showed two extra cutouts that I didn't need. He was straight onto the supplier/warehouse in China to check the stock and had a photo of my facia back that very evening. It was perfect.

There are two possible radios in the series 2 Soul and two possible wiring plugs. The kit was delivered with both possible plugs which made basic install really easy.

I am going to chase Dan up with a couple of improvement requests. I hope that with his contacts back in China that he might be able to get a result.
    - the ability to export video files from the dashcam DVR to the hard drive or a USB stick
    - how do I get Australian radio icons added to the radio unit. It appears to be based on gps coordinates. Do I specify Sydney NSW, or my specific outer suburb location. ?

My overall impression of Dan from Teyes is 5 out of 5. The local logistics company they use only gets a 2 out of 5. It sat in limbo in Australia for nearly 2 weeks before being delivered. Their website said they attempted delivery once but I was home all day and they didn't. When it finally turned up it was in a small sedan hatch packed to the roof with boxes. Not at all professional.

My thoughts on the CC3 ? It is excellent. It looks fantastic in my Soul and a vast improvement. Everything works well. I modified the wiring to use my existing 6 volt rear view camera but the resolution looks pretty [email protected] on the high res screen. My next project might be to retrofit the new camera to the existing moulding in the rear hatch.
