how do u root with out touching the bootloader

If you're on ICS root with debugfs.
Install OTA Rootkeeper
Following the directions for temp unroot...OTA or manually upgrade incrementally to Jelly Bean.
Use OTA rootkeeper to re-root.

If you are on Jelly Bean
Downgrade to ICS .30
Install OTA rootkeeper.
Root with debugfs.
Temp un-root
OTA to Jelly Bean
Re-root with OTA rootkeeper.

i though u needed to unlock boot-loader in order to downgrade
time to start reading
