After seeing so many exploding cases on the news when using cheap 3rd party china brand and made battery, i'm willing to pay extra more for a non-china made product.. At least less risk of my X1 exploding near my chest or my groin.. :D

And where do you think that your original battery is made in, europe?

The Associated Press Sat Apr 18, 2:48 pm ET
BOAO, China – Action star Jackie Chan said Saturday he's not sure if a free society is a good thing for China and that he's starting to think "we Chinese need to be controlled."

Chan's comments drew applause from a predominantly Chinese audience of business leaders in China's southern island province of Hainan.

The 55-year-old Hong Kong actor was participating in a panel at the annual Boao Forum when he was asked to discuss censorship and restrictions on filmmakers in China. He expanded his comments to include society.

"I'm not sure if it's good to have freedom or not," Chan said. "I'm really confused now. If you're too free, you're like the way Hong Kong is now. It's very chaotic. Taiwan is also chaotic."

Chan added: "I'm gradually beginning to feel that we Chinese need to be controlled. If we're not being controlled, we'll just do what we want."

The kung fu star has not been a vocal supporter of the pro-democracy movement in his hometown of Hong Kong. Since the former British colony returned to Chinese rule in 1997, voters have not been allowed to directly elect their leader. Several massive street protests have been held to demand full democracy, but Beijing has repeatedly said Hong Kong isn't ready for it.

The theme at Saturday's panel discussion was "Tapping into Asia's Creative Industry Potential," and Chan had several opinions about innovation in China.

He said that early in his career, he lived in the shadow of the late martial arts star Bruce Lee. He said that during his first foray into Hollywood, he struggled to establish his own identity, so he returned to Hong Kong. After spending 15 years building his reputation in Asia, Chan finally got rediscovered by Hollywood, he said.

Chan said the problem with Chinese youth is that "they like other people's things. They don't like their own things." Young people need to spend more time developing their own style, he added.

The action hero complained that Chinese goods still have too many quality problems. He became emotional when discussing contaminated milk powder that sickened tens of thousands of Chinese babies in the past year.

Speaking fast with his voice rising, Chan said, "If I need to buy a TV, I'll definitely buy a Japanese TV. A Chinese TV might explode."

I would suggest that you should directly buy a C4, instant kill and less pain.
think i must hold the xperia differently to you, would make no difference to me how thick the phone is. i kinda hook my first fingers around the top and side of the fone so the finger makes a C shape. the whole inside of the finger is gripping the phone and my second fingers are barely touching the back. i can type very fast this way and the phone is well supported. one problem i see with the thicker battery is getting the phone to fit in the phone case i have. ive got the official sony case and its a very tight squeeze as it is. another 5mm would probably be ok but anymore than that and i doubt it would fit. its hard to see from the picture the dimensions of the 3600mah battery but im guessing since its twice the capacity its probably twice the size too.

spotted this on ebay.... worth the risk??

Too bad it's hella delayed. It says "PRE-ORDER NOW for shipping end of this week." So that means it's pretty soon.

I'd suggest getting the 3600 mah over the 1800 because the 3600 makes typing much quicker, but it hurts in your pockets.
Right... I know it's early days... but how about a custom cover for our X10?Then I can whack in one of those phat 3600 jobbies....

I doubt the overpriced SE batteries are of higher quality than 3rd party ones from china. Take your back cover of, where does the phone and the battery come from? Taiwan. Not really a country with a reputation of high quality manufacturing. And apart from this, wasnt there a scandal with sony notebook batteries that set the whole device on fire a few years ago?

I have got an update. Even the expensive original batteries come from china. Given the fact that its highly unrealistic for SE to manufacture the batteries itself the original and 3rd party accupacks could even have the same origin :)
