Found it in this "highly detailed" spec sheet.

They really stepped up to the plate with this display! First it was the highly touted 2560x1600 IPS display using one of the best screens ever ( IGZO) and now this. Kudos!

BUT..

I do have one gripe though.. Do any of ya still have the TF700T? If so, can you do the side by side comparison check I just did...

I did a side by side comparison on YouTube with an 1080P video. We all know the brightness is not the same but I also noticed the colors weren't as vibrant or sharp? Has anyone noticed this? How can this happen, on a better display lol.

The screen is for sure sharper but only visible with content that supports it.
The colors you can individually set up to your own wishes with the app Splendid when they look to flaw for you.
I have both devices and made already a good comparison between the 2 screens in another thread here.

Would not trust those specefications

I would not trust those specifications just like that. It also says that the Tegra4 has 4x ARM Cortex-A15 and 1x Cortex-A9 and that definitely is not true. They are all A15 cores, one is just made with a different procedure to focus on low power consumption instead of performance. Also the stated MicroSD card reader is incorrect, it's an SDXC card reader which officially supports 64GB.

If the Asus guide/manual does not state that it has it, it probably doesn't. If it did, they would flaunt with it I would think. Also, if you search around there are a lot of conflicting things that have been written about it. So currently I would say the question is unanswered and since the specification list lists nothing of the sort, it most likely is NOT using a special type of glass.

Just got off the phone with Asus. They said it's definitely gorilla glass. He just couldn't commit to a version. He opened case number and will get me the info on Monday. He will have access to higher level support for an answer.

Just got off a chat with ASUS. The rep told me that the 701t does NOT have gorilla glass. So there seems to be some confusion internally about the specs. My guess is no, otherwise they would be making that a selling point.

TF700T never had a scratch on it, but I always kept it in the case w/ dock attached.

I really like the TF701T screen as it is definitely sharper. But I think really the colors might be due to the brightness you are talking about. Its pretty beautiful as itself. Maybe someone will share their color results?

I'm not real confident with Asus's support knlowege on the tf701t. I emailed then last week asking for a Rough ETA on when the tablet would be available for purchase. They had no clue. I bought one that same night at Tigerdirect.com.

I too also read somewhere recently that the tablet screen was made of Gorilla glass. I hope Asus support uninformed here too, and that it really is made with gorilla glass.

I wasdissapointed with the colors/vibrantcy until i located the Splended app in my installed apps page. I opened up the app and clicked the "vivid mode" check box and WOW. The colors are very vibrant and popping. I'm very pleased. I'm also pleased with the new 2560x1600 resolution. The icons and text are very well defined and crisp. The text is crisp even zooming all of the way in.
