On initial inspection, and please note that I have not installed/used on a phone yet, I can tell you there are a few differences...
I'll post Pics for items I feel need them to help with comparison (will add (pic) to the line item)
CaseBorne:
1. It is a 2-part case. Inner plastic "ring" that goes around the device, then you install into the rugged outer rubberized case.
2. The feel of the case is actually pretty nice. It's nice to hold and adds some bulk (which rugged cases tend to do), but is not so big that it's uncomfortable. Please keep in mind that I am also 6'5" tall and have big hands (I can palm a Basketball with ease), so the size may not fit as well for everyone as it does me.

3. The Kickstand is secure when closed. To lock it open, you have to take an extra action of puling the back support arm down to lock it, which means you have to push up a little to unlock to close the kickstand. (pic) -
4. Kickstand does not feel too flimsy and seem like it will last.
5. When closed, the kickstand does not stick out in any way, so pretty flush with the case.
6. All kickstand pivot points are hinged, so no folding plastic to wear off and break.
7. If you look in the picture, the Orange backing is foam, so added protection there (previous post of mine).
8. The USB-C charging port has a cover which protects the port, which is great as I almost NEVER use the port and charge wirelessly.
9. Case back is raised on the edges to keep from teetering when laid down, this also protects the cameras
Unicorn Beetle:
1. Single piece case with rubberized sides.
2. Same as above
3. Kickstand on this case is more useful other than as a kickstand as it folds in the middle and can be used as an additional grip by sliding your finger in the kickstand opening to hold the phone. (pic) -
3. Kickstand is secure when closed. Easy open, close.
4. Middle Hinge allows for sturdier overall feel of the kickstand.
5. Easy to close with one hand when done with it (if using as a grip).
6. When closed, the kickstand does not stick out in any way, so pretty flush with the case.
7. USB-C port is open with no cover.
8. Case back has "feet" on the corners to level the phone when it is set down, these are pretty small and don't impact using/holding the phone.
Overall, I like BOTH cases, so you can't go wrong either way, but I will try them BOTH for a few days, but after initial inspection of both cases, I am leaning to the CaseBorne case for the added protection it gives as well as the USB Port being covered.
The ONLY thing that would make me want to use the Unicorn Beetle case is the kickstand. I like how I can use the kickstand with my finger to add something extra to help hold the phone, but, I will admit, I would probably VERY RARELY use it like this as my fingers are a little big as well (pic) -
Of course, I am saying all of this BEFORE I even have a phone to put in the cases to see how they feel once they are on the phone. I will update as I get my phone (looks like TOMORROW), and let everyone know what I find after.
Oh, yes, that IS a Tardis on my wedding ring. Wife has a matching ring...
