Calling feature started in iPhones,just now had a talk with one friend in US and activated her calling feature.

Thanks for your suggestions.
1. I did remove whatsapp completely when I installed and re-registered but problem remains
2. I receive whatsapp calls without problem and good quality here in South Africa.

It seems that either the issue is arising from Phone end or Custom OS..
I would suggest you to contact WhatsApp support team to get more help in this matter!

Are you able to receive calls? Also what's is your location? Hope VoIP services are allowed in your country, if not then use any VPN. This will surely solve the issue!!

If still issue is persistent then remove WhatsApp completely (Don't forget to back up your chats) restart phone.. Reinstall playstore version to be sure (as playstore version is stable than beta). Re-register yourself and try!

P.S. : If you want to be in WhatsApp group regarding latest version and troubleshooting then I can add you to group on WhatsApp.

Here is how you apply the fix for WhatsApp voice call issues in Android:

Step 1: Download and install ES File Explorer from the Google Play Store

Step 2: Launch the File Explorer app and swipe the device's screen from its left edge towards right to pull out the menu

Step 3: Go to Tools section and locate the root explorer option. Then click on its On/Off toggle button to enable it and grant permission if prompted.

Step 4: Navigate to system folder and tap on build.prop and then choose ES Note editor

Step 5: Tap on the 3-dot menu at top right and select Edit

Step 6: Then find and replace the value true with false for the following lines of code:

Search for use.dedicated.device.for.viop=true and replace the value true with false. Hence, it would be: use.dedicated.device.for.viop=false
Search for use.voice.path.for.pcm.voip=true and replace the value true with false here as well. Then the code will be: use.voice.path.for.pcm.voip=false
Step 7: Save and return to homescreen. Try calling your friend using WhatsApp now and it should work.

Thanks , I appreciate your effort to help. I did indeed contacted the support team but it might take awhile. There was another person (lightworks) who mentioned the same problem but the message does not list the device and os.

Now iphone also supports for Voice Calling.............
Just Update your whatsapp & Done.............
But still you can only receive calls

Brother you can pass on the feature to iPhone users just like Android user got... Invite!!
IPhone users can call too. I have activated few of my friends and the quality between Android to iPhone is superb

Just copy the files from folder databases inside whatsapp folder n paste in after you're done installing previous version

Call from stock dialer

Anyone know how to call a contact while in Whatsapp screen as a normal call, from stock dialer app? Just like it worked before the voice calling feature.

@acsterf It isn't possible any more. WhatsApp removed this feature after it added the in app calls.
