Yikes. I have a pixel 6 Pro and I don't have these color shifting tint, crush, or rainbow effect issues.
What I DO have though -- out of the box - the screen looked like a disgusting piss yellow with faded colors. And that's on Adaptive Color settings. Of course, I tried Vivid and Boosted modes..... and it looks, even more sickly, faded, and 'pissy' yellow. With a few third-party apps. I fixed all this and the screen looks perfect now. Now I have perfect white point, and vibrant colors .
But I was very disappointed initially.
Turn on dark mode, go into display settings and switch smooth display on and off. You don't see the color shift? It's very subtle. But once you see it you can't unsee it. Mine is more noticable on the right edge of the screen.Yikes. I have a pixel 6 Pro and I don't have these color shifting, tint, crush, flickering, or rainbow effect issues.

What did you do to make the colors accurate? What app did you use?Yikes. I have a pixel 6 Pro and I don't have these color shifting, tint, crush, flickering, or rainbow effect issues.

Thanks...i think that live with it...There isn’t really wait see if Google fix (doubtful) return it for refund or live with it or don’t use dark mode ,
So I got my new Pixel 6 today and the issue is still there but 90 % less noticable than the provided imgur link. So I have to look very closely to notice it. Which tells me that this seems to be a display problem. I will keep the phone, other than that I really like it. Thats my final update. Good luck to all.My provider said they will receive a new batch around 5th of november. I ordered another one and hope it will arrive next week. I can update if the issue is still there with the new batch of phones or if it was just with the initial ones.
I call bllsht. What apps? Nothing I try does anything. My display is piss yellow, probably going to return it.Yikes. I have a pixel 6 Pro and I don't have these color shifting, tint, crush, flickering, or rainbow effect issues.

Same here.... me P6 purchased in Germany but now I'm in Italy. Google support told me that he would send me a new terminal but after two days not received any confirmation email.anche io ho questo problema
Colorazione viola, particolarmente evidente a 90hz
Ho ordinato dalla Germania ma ora sono in Italia, pensi che chiedere una sostituzione sarebbe d'aiuto?
Sarebbe un po' una seccatura per me. Inoltre: dove posso chiedere un RMA???
MODIFICARE:
Li ho raggiunti tramite la chat, mi hanno detto che me ne invieranno uno nuovo anche se sono in italia ma l'etichetta dello snipment è sbagliata e il collegamento rma è interrotto
Aggiornerò questo
Replacement on the left, original on the right. Big improvement
simple solution then. don't turn the blue light filter onMy pixel 6 screen also has a green tint in the (top) right. It's extremely noticable when:
- lowest brightness
- blue light filter on
- extra dimming on
If I go to the extra dimming settings page and move the slider, I can see a moving giant halo around top right corner.
Right. I just meant that it is especially visible with those three things on. But yeah, my screen is looking way better than the ones in some of the pictures here, so I'm a bit reluctant to RMA and end getting multiple other (more) defective units.
One more thing.. my original device had a very noticeable color shift when interacting with the screen (when the screen went from idle 60Hz to 90Hz). The transition is much more subtle on the replacement (and yes, I have frame rate toggled in dev options).Replacement on the left, original on the right. Big improvement
Was this the end of your pixel? Did you return it or talk to Google support? Do you think it was inevitable? I thought I had a fine screen, better than most, but now I'm worried.Right. Edit: RIP, my screen is flashing
Haha, Sorry, didn't mean to scare you or anything. That edit was a bit exaggeratedWas this the end of your pixel? Did you return it or talk to Google support? Do you think it was inevitable? I thought I had a fine screen, better than most, but now I'm worried.
Whew! What a relief! LolHaha, Sorry, didn't mean to scare you or anything. That edit was a bit exaggerated.
I don't remember actually saving the edit.
Anyway, what I wanted to say is that the screen flickers a bit (the tint of the screen changes in the affected corners) when it switches from 90Hz to 60Hz mode. So when something updates I can see the tint change. Also happens when the screen is static and I touch it.
Again, it's nothing like most other affected people here, nor does it get worse.
I'll just keep mine for now, because a) I can live with it, b) I can return it anytime, c) I'd like to wait for most of the defective units to no longer be in circulation
Clearly they cut corners with the display. It's the same quality they used for the 5a ($449), it behaves exactly the same with the rainbow effect. For the P6 and 5a I have it's barely noticeable, not bad enough that I would go exchange them. I am paranoid when it comes to screens. When I asked my wife (who has the 5a now) to look at this on both phones, she asked me what I'm talking about and told me that I should get a life ( lol ).Had a conversation with Google Support, they are telling me it's normal OLED Color change out of different angles but where the **** is this rainbow thing a normal color change LOL
Yeah when I tested these in the store the regular pixel 6 had a yellowish white screen like mine (very different from the OnePlus 6t I came from which was way more blue-white). But it was way bright in the store so I didn't know if I could test the low brightness grey/green tint. I'll try tho! Worth a shot!if you get a chance and have a BB or Target close by, do yourself a favor and check out the demo units to see if they have the same tint. I did and it's not a solution but comforting to see that they all have this to some degree. It's just not a Samsung or OnePlus display on these. I only paid $599 for mine so I ignore it - until I come across this thread again -![]()
put your long coat on, go to the store and lean over the device to get it dark enough. then run when they call the police - lolYeah when I tested these in the store the regular pixel 6 had a yellowish white screen like mine (very different from the OnePlus 6t I came from which was way more blue-white).
