Mike, would you please share a quick but pertinent overview of the state of camera on the P2 ? IMHO that should be the future of P2 ?

I've gone full time into the camera port business lately, as a total noob.
Managed to made somehow work the last moto camera 2 (7.2.8.7 and above) Everything else is broken but I was shocked to witness such good pic come out of the P2.

Red lot and lot about it. Isn't it one of the most complicated stuff on android ? Debugging that stuff feels like climbing a mountain you can't even see.

For the sake of curiosity, what are the main levers (blobs?), the others one (xml tweaks) ? Do you think something might be done on a relatively scrub level to improve that ?

will an Official Resurrection Remix Rom be ever possible for P2? all I see is a bunch of unofficial ports without any maintenance thrown at us. atleast the RR Nougat stable version should have been maintained and it should have an official tag by now, I don't understand why nobody cares about RR

Once we get official support for los15.1, we'd expect other offical custom ROMs based on los.
our device for official status for LOS14.1 very late by the time, now no one is working for any nougat rom.
but we could expect official los based Oreo ROMs after los15.1 gets official for our device.

ok lineage 15.1 and oreo roms apart, we already have a stable lineage os 14.1 which is official and has regular nigtlies, why can't we have a stable official RR 5.8.5 which is 7.1.2, I have begged in the google plus community devs of RR to make a ROM for P2 but they said they will need the device to test it after port and stuff and it's upto p2 devs to port a rom and submit it to them and until that happens, we will not have an official build of RR foe our P2. I have been asking devs for official RR for about 4 months now, being ignored ever since or getting answered pointlessly like that official is just a tag comment. No, official is not just a tag, in official the build comes merged with their latest changes and bug fixes and is maintained by a developer. Official is just a tag ROFL

There is nobody to work on an official RR build...And specifically if it's 7.1.2...forget about any updates..It's old now
