I just got done using this guide to root my XOOM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21078318#post21078318

I am very new to this whole world, but I am loving it. What are the benefits of using this rom instead of the Universal Boot (if any)? I am just trying to make the most of my xoom and am loving the root access stuff so far....but want to know if I should stick with what I have or go with this ROM?
You have a choice of two basic roms other than the stock Xoom rom that you have now. You can stick with the Honeycomb OS and then the Moray Rom and/or Odachi kernel are highly recommended. Moray is for wifi and 3G only. There is also a newer 3G/4G LTE Rom if you have that Xoom model. Then there is the Eos (or the XoomZone) ICS beta Rom which is being updated through nightly builds. ICS (Android 4) is so stable, fast and feature rich, that as much as I love Moray/Odachi, I wouldn't willingly go back to Honeycomb. If you have a wifi Xoom you will flash the Wingray nightlies and for a 3G/4G LTE Xoom, you will flash the Stingray nightlies. Eos roms will now include the camera and HDMI binaries from the Chinese build, so we've got almost everything, plus some great Tiamat/Eos features. Exciting times!

Nice. It seems I have some things to consider. Is it easy to switch over to a new ROM? Also, I have the wifi/3G xoom so am I considered Stingray?

Now I've tested various things to get all missing apps in market (f.e. the app "bunny shooter free" and "klondike solitaire" are missing in market on moray (2.2.1) / german Xoom 3g) - but I havn't found a way yet:

1. Wipe everything > made the Google-Account-Initialisation of the moray rom > restore of last moray-nandroid = apps are missing in the marked

2. Wipe everything > restore nandroid of stock 3.1-rom > wipe everything again > made the Google-Account-Initialisation of the stock-rom = app are in in the market (!) > restore of last moray-nandroid = apps are missing in the market (tested with an without wiping everything after moray-retore)

3. Restore moray-nandroid > wipe everything > copy the build.prop of the stock 3.1 to system = xoom hangs on bootscreen (on the moray-water-bootscreen)

Conclusion:
It's not the Google-Account-Initialisation :-( It could work with the correct build.prop or market version (1.0.28 and 3.1.6 are not working/showing all apps)...
My Xoom 3G MZ605 have same issue... missing apps in the market.
I have tested with 2.2.0, 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 same bug.
Wipe all and nothing same issue... back to 3.1 factory and all ok again...
Last test i have install 2.3.0 lost my 3G but market run fine and all running ok.

If 2.3.0 is based in 2.2.2 what diference in market is in both case i check same version of market and in 2.3.0 work nice and 2.2.2 missing ?

PS: In 2.2.2 About Tablet indicate MZ601 in Model Number and in 2.3.0 indicate Xoom in Model Number
