like a month ago i got a pixel 2 xl and went to the wife's project fi plan, now google is not willing to make this $799 credit retroactive even though my wife bought her pixel 3 already and all i would have to do it buy one. google told me i COULD cancel my fi account, start another one under a different gmail address, add that to the wife's and buy a new pixel 3 and i would get the credit. then later merge the two gmail accounts. i don't know if that's a true workaround, sounds a little risky like i might end up with two gmail accounts, a different phone number and never seeing the credit happen. just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this.
i might be trying to cheat their system here but for goodness google themselves told me how to do it
