venompie icons theme question?

I've been trying to find away to change the icons used in venompie with no avail so I was hoping maybe someone might have found a solution to this. I downloaded a custom icon pack from play store and applied it to both my home launcher as well as inside venom tweaks but for some reason the icons on my venompie (chrome, messages, phone, etc) are still showing up as the system default icons. Is there anyway to fix this?

That's probably something you'd have to talk to the pie dev about

Is it possible to change the color of the icons and switches in the settings menu or is that strictly theme controlled? I like certain aspects of the multicam theme but not necessarily the settings menu colors.

Those are controlled by the theme. Icons and buttons are images and the switches on color is an overlay color from resources.

Thanks. Good reason to learn themeing. There are aspects of multicam, inverted sense and viper dark that I want to try to combine. Hopefully without a bootloop or worse!

I would be really careful just to combine stuff from those three themes. All three have a different way of modding. You will end up with FC's. What do you want to combine exactly? And your on M7 or M8?

I'm on M8. Well I like the dark sense option to swap the recent and back buttons. I know there is a xposed method to do that but it looked weird and distorted the buttons. I like the camo headers and dividers (probably not the correct names but hopefully you know what I mean) and lastly I typically use the dark blue theme in Viper Dark, so combining them into one theme seemed like a good idea to me.

Well this is the M7 section but anyway... You can get my Multicam theme zip and unzip it. Then go to the folder additions/theme/full/system/framework/com.htc.resources.apk. open resources.arsc with HXD editor, search and replace 4A 66 7A with D2 93 10 (Darkone blue) for example. Save the file. Then zip the full theme again and flash it. Then you will have the camo headers and dividers (names are almost correct) with blue highlights. Not sure about swapping the navbar buttons though.

Just an example on rather quickly change colors without replacing images and without decompile an apk.

This isn't fair, I do what the OP says, install ViperOne 6.21 and it works. Not only does it work but it works GREAT. What kind of OP puts up a flawless ROM with so many customizations that it makes HTC's heads spin. Just absolutely pisses me off!!!! In fact so much so that I donated to the OP today, although have no idea why since I know these Dev's just sit around with some ganja and these ROM's just happen by magic, LOL.

Sorry guys just had to have a bit of fun today, truth is I can't even imagine how bad things would be without you guys, thank you so very much for all the time and work. My small donation doesn't even begin to cover the value of your work. Anyone that gets help out of a tough spot by one of our Dev's can certainly afford something to cover their costs and time.

Thanks Guys, keep up the great work, Venom Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:fingers-crossed:

BTW any ETA on when this thing will make my coffee in the morning????

Quick question.....

Any way to disable the notification icon tint? Most icons are multi-colored and detailed but the tint makes them one universal color. I've tried enabling full transparency which just hides the icons altogether and going full white which makes them white. The tint option seems to work well on the signal icons bc when u make the tint fully transparent, it shows the natural colors of the icon (and doesn't hide them).....but not the case for the notification icons.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Reverting back to Stock Viper Venom theme

Hello there
I have recently flashed the ViperDark 1.6.8 theme and i was wondering how to revert back to the stock ViperOne theme.
I followed this short solution posted here "To revert back, just reflash the ROM without wiping" and so i reflashed Viper 6.2.0 and OTA 6.2.1 updates without wipe and the ViperDark 1.6.8 theme is still present!

Could somebody please tell me how to properly revert back to the stock ViperOne theme without having to wipe my whole device? Is there a stock ViperOne 6.2.1 theme zip file i could flash over the top???

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

many thanks,

A Rom flash without wipe will remove the theme. Also you have to reset your tweaks color presets manually. There is no such thing as a stock theme zip because the ROM itself is stock ViperOne.

Thank you for your quick reply.
I did try to flash ViperOne 6.2.0 Rom over the top but when I navigate to settings, personalise, themes, I can't see the stock themes.
Do I need to do something else during the installation of the rom? Is there a full 6.2.1 rom I can download and flash again?

So, you've downloaded and been blown away by the most advanced ROM on the HTC One - ViperOne!!

Well, the fun doesn't end there! Thanks to Team Venom's powerful theme engine, you can change multiple elements of the theme on the fly - a never-before seen feature on any ROM.

Of course as with anything new, there is much confusion how this works. The aim of this thread is to clarify how to change various aspects of the theme, and unleash the full power of the Viper!

There are 2 aspects to themeing on ViperOne:

    • The built in theme engine (covering statusbar icons, Sense icons, wallpapers, fonts etc)
    • The full flashable theme, which completely transforms the look of your device

To some degree, the effects of these are independent. So you can change aspects of the built in theme without changing the skin, or change the skin but keep theme elements. Or even keep everything, and just change the Sense icons. The possibilities are endless.

The secret to ViperOne's stunning good looks is a combination of the above, and you can find more information on this over the next 4 posts

Please post any theme questions / issues here rather than on the main ROM thread, let's keep that clean for ROM issues.

    Thank you

So you've read about the revolutionary theme engine in the ROM thread. But what exactly can you do with it? Basically, it allows you to alter some of the graphical elements on the fly, without needing to flash or even reboot.

Using Venom Tweaks, you can change the appearance of:

    • Statusbar icons
    • EQS icons
    • Battery icons
    • Sense icons
    • Notification shade background
    • App drawer background

These elements are all independent and can be changed to suit your tastes. So, you can use icons from different icon sets to mix and match your own personal theme.

But that's not all. Take a closer look at the screens where you choose statusbar themes and icon sets. You'll notice that each supported statusbar icon can be changed independently. So you like wifi icon from theme A, but battery from theme B? No problem, download both and mix it up as much as you want. You're only limited by what's available in the Hub.

And if there's some icons you want that aren't in the Hub? That's what the Venom kitchen is for.....
    Special thanks to:

    • jotha - for the battery Icons

    :)

    EYEVuhs.png

As if the ROM wasn't customisable enough, the ROM devs have also developed the Venom theme kitchen.

Really want some statusbar icons that aren't in the Hub,or got a great idea for a set of Sense icons? Why not make it yourself and share it with others via the Venom Hub?!

We've put some themes in the Hub to get you started, but the aim is to fill it with user generated content.
We've tried to make the tutorial as easy as possible, but if you have any questions, here's the place to ask.

Post your completed themes here, with a screenshot. If the theme looks nice we will add it with credits to the venom hub, so all users can download it from there!

One thing we ask though - ideally you'd be using icons you've created yourself. If you are going to use someone's else icons, please ask them for their permission first.
We all spend a lot of our free time making these, and it's really annoying to see your work ripped off by someone else! I'm sure you'd all agree.

If you used icons from the UOT kitchen, then say so.

    Happy theming!

Thanks to @ViNOK16Bit for his input!

NavBar: stock HTC Sense5, ripped off the ONE (thanks @he_stheone64 ;) ), Thanks HTC!

ui.xml is pretty much the reference layout at teamw.in’s repo over at OmniRom and has only placement and color edits from me to make all stuff fit, so it's pretty much stock.

    HowTo:
    download the ui.zip
place it on your SDcard into the folder "theme" which is located inside the folder "TWRP". If that folder doesn't exist, create it.
    Correct path: \sdcard\TWRP\theme\ui.zip
then boot into recovery and enjoy.
Notice: all datamedia devices that have TWRP located on /data/media or /data/media/0 need the “theme” folder in small letters, not capitalized, or else the theme won’t be recognized! I believe Dees_Troy is looking into this but for now you need to pay attention to this.

    Disclaimer:
According to TeamWin, it is possible to introduce bugs and malicious code into TWRP by means of a theme. I spent a lot of time testing this myself and asure you, i found no malicious button or hidden function in it ;)
However, i cannot guarantee, that there won't be problems from using a theme. If you ever suspect this theme of doing something bad to your phone, please let me know asap, so i can fix that.
I do not want to harm anyone's tech, but i also can't take responsibility for this, as using themes is always the sole responsibility of the user. I am not god. I can't foresee everything.

Update 27th of April 2014: This theme has been updated to TWRP 2.7.0.0 and is functional on all versions 2.7 and up so far. it will also be working on all FullHD devices, so M7 and M8 for sure, probably others.
