Sorry, don't know why. That's the one I have running now and it works as it should.

So the Facebook in the first post won't install over the one from a few pages ago. I uninstalled the second time and still no go. Didn't try the flash. Just the regular apk.

Also we made changes. Uninstall and install the stock Facebook then the black Facebook like you did at first

Make sure if you have a market installed in system/app that the v in vending is capitalized or this will not delete your old market. Also
If you have been silently updated the market will be in data/app/ Com.android.vending-1 . Also check data/data. Delete anything in data/app or data/data that is google market. Do not delete market updater though you can freeze that with titanium backup premium. If you had trouble installing and then figured it out please post the steps you took.

whats the course of action with this if i have an apk in both locations mentioned above?? i managed to flash ok, but downloading any apps was sitting at a standstill..

You have a themed market installed but you can't download any apps? I would run fix permissions and clear market cache first

this might help, I had trouble at first.

I tried to install the new facebook over the beta test one and it said could not be installed. So I went into root explorer and searched for facebook. Turns out I had htc facebook for reason. So I deleted it and I deleted com.facebook.katana-1.apk then I went back into root explorer and clicked on com.facebook.katana-2.apk and it installed just fine.

So I deleted it and I deleted com.facebook.katana-1.apk then I went back into root explorer and clicked on com.facebook.katana-2.apk and it installed just fine.

You should not have deleted the htc facebook, as that is the integrated sense app.

You have a themed market installed but you can't download any apps? I would run fix permissions and clear market cache first
