This is the new Google Market 2.2.7 themed Black and Blue. The work was done by myself and jeffsanace from the evo threads. We hope to use this thread for more original black and blue themed apps. props to thebowers on the droid forums for the inspiration and the fine guide to inverting vending.apk. that thread is here.

We also encourage participation. We may or may not post visitors work in the op.
it is our goal to have a thread where Evo and Dinc -blue theme lovers (and cyan!) can download work without downloading an entire theme. ( though if you do download a theme i hear viva! is the best!).

with the difficulty that the new market is presenting some i advise going through the thread. that can be tedious i know but it is apparent that what works for some doesnt work for others and you may find a method that works. i have found that by freezing my market updater with titanium backup that i have been able to flash numerous times since my first intial successful test with not a single problem or force close.

Make sure if you have a market installed in system/app that the v in vending is capitalized or this will not delete your old market. Also
If you have been silently updated the market will be in data/app/ Com.android.vending-1 . Also check data/data. Delete anything in data/app or data/data that is google market. Do not delete market updater though you can freeze that with titanium backup premium. If you had trouble installing and then figured it out please post the steps you took.

TIPS

try uninstalling gmail before you flash then install gmail. also 2.2.1 roms seem to fare better with this market

yeah i just want to check it out. ive been sick man, its put me behind a little.

i do want to start some red themed apps. im trying to push out two full theme updates and when im done ill focus on the apps again

bro it works perfectly. Since facebook on my sgs is not a system app, all i did was extract apk file from CWM zip file and just installed it as regular app. Its working great...thanks for the fix....

looks like 2.2.11 is in the CM7 beta ROMs on crackflashers.com. i shall miss the black market until its updated, or maybe i'll flash the older version

Awesome work! i love the black market!! Just one thing.. i turned on my evo this morning and the the app screen flashed then it went back to the green color. Not sure what happened.

Edit: It appears the market auto updated itself to vs 2.2.11

So were you going to theme 1.5.0? Also, I've been wondering, how does a person go about theming an apk? Do you have to do something special? Like for instance, assuming all the images are the same, would it just be a process of dropping the mod'd images in and resigning the apk? I'd love to theme a few apps here and there to help contribute.....

its a bit of a process. you have images and then you .9png images which are very tricky. then there is usually a lot of code to change. i kind of have a team with some awesome imagers and i do the codes and hacks. only way to learn is to try. there is a manual for theming on xda thats pretty solid.
