Hi all,
I have created a 4.2.1 base zip, but I am not sure if it works or not, as I am not sure if the new apk tool works correctly.

If someone who is on stock 4.2.1 and has cwm installed, wouldn't mind testing it for me, I would be very grateful.
If anyone wouldn't mind doing that, I can pm them the download link.

I would test it myself, but my nexus 7 is currently not in working order (recovery wont detect anything in sd card).

Thanks in advance

Cheers
Corey

Morning mate,

I am running stock 4.2.1 with CWM (Franco Kernel R34). I am happy to test the new build as I have been eagerly waiting for it (been following your thread since day one).
The current build I use reverts to the stock battery icon on several percentages :( PM me the download and I will let you know the results.

PS* I hope flashing a new battery mod won't brick my phone? :p

Hi,
I have just sent a pm.
The mods might not work, as I am trying a new way of making them. But I included a restore zip
Thanks again for doing this.

Help!

Hi all,

My request does not come strictly off topic, but it is surely related. Corey is already helping me on this, but I thought I'd ask the rest of you,

I flashed a Nexus 7 Battery Mod on my Nexus 4 by mistake... Yes, I know I'm an idiot.

But now my Nexus 4 is buggered and I have lost all my Navigation buttons and Notification bar. The screen has expanded to cover this area, affecting the resolution of widgets and the number of icon rows in the App Drawer. But furthermore, I keep getting the System UI has stopped error message, and it pops up every other second - making the device unuasble. I don't have any Nav buttons and on top of that this error message. I can't navigate anywhere! Luckily I made a backup of my old SystemUI.apk before I flashed the Nexus 7 zip, but not sure how to restore it?

Could someone be so kind to guide me out of this predicament? I have tried to flash Stock 4.2.1 SystemUI.apk but it didn't seem to make any difference. I am running a stock build of Android 4.2.1 with Franco's Kernel.

I do not want to lose my data or any existing settings/kernel/camera mods. Since my phone is running fine, and only the nav bar/notification bar is missing. So factory reset/flashing a new ROM is LAST RESORT only.. I also wish to stick to the Stock 4.2.1 ROM at this stage, so no odexed ROMs.. Any assistance will be much appreciated.

EDIT: Gave up and flashed Stock ROM. Had everything backed up in Titanium.

Cheers,
SAM

Hi,
He was testing them, but he accidently flashes them on his nexus 4 instead, and he had to reflash stock to fix it, so I thought I would fix my n7 and test it myself, as I don't want to be responsible for bricking both his devices lol.

The is some friends of my mothers are staying at my house at the moment, and they have highjacked all my computers  so I am not getting much time to try and fix my nexus 7 :p

Hi all,
I have been trying to fix my nexus 7 for weeks now, but no luck.
I can't install anything via recovery, and nothing I do seems to fix it.
I think I might have stuffed my partitions up :(

I need to get it fixed before I can test the battery zips, so I can't make any battery mods till that's done.

That's the reason why I haven't added 4.2 ones like I said.

I will try and get it done as possible.

Cheers
Corey

Hi buddy,

Hope all is good! Any update on whether your Mods are working for 4.2.2 for the Nexus 7? Oh, and yeah, this time I definitely won't flash the N7 mod on my N4 :p Both my devices are currently rocking 4.2.2 with Franco's Kernel. Life does not get better than this

Hey,
My nexus 7 is still broken :(
Adb doesn't work, and in recovery, when I try and install zip, none of the folders in Tue SD card show up, So I can't select the zip.

Its all happened since I tried out the nexus 7 multi boot.

I have tried flashing stock, flashing custom ROM, flashing different recovery, factory resets, formatted SD card, re locking boot loader and unlocking, etc, and nothing is fixing it.

I can't really claim warranty on it, as only the recovery and adb are broken, and I am not supposed to be messing with them anyway according to Google :(

I might have to wait till the io in may, and If they don't release a updated nexus 7, I will just have to buy a new device.

I will try posting the problem on xda, but I have googled it, and can't find any answers.

Sorry for the wait :p

Franco kernel rocks :)

But without adb or recovery, I can't install the battery mods, so I can't test them.

And I don't really want to be responsible for messing up other peoples devices, so I don't want to give it to someone else to test.

I will keep trying to fix my nexus 7, as I haven't been able to flash a custom ROM on it for months

Cheers

Universal Battery Mod's

Hi All

NOTE:
Twrp recovery is not supported, you can try flashing the mods with it, as some people found that it worked for them, but normaly it will give a error msg when flashing the second zip (the battery icon zip, not the base zip).
It should not break anything, but it might make the battery icons only show 7 different percentage levels instead of 100, but that is easily fixed by flashing the base zip again.

I have Created some Universal Battery Mod's for the Nexus 7.
They have the Potential To Work on all Nexus 7, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, and Galaxy S3 roms, but a "Base" CWM Zip must be made for each rom and flashed before you Can Flash the Battery mods themselves.
The Benefit of theses Universal Battery Mod's is as Follows:

When a update to a rom rolls out, instead of having to update each battery mod separately, now all i have to do is update the one "Base" Cwm Zip, and then all the battery mods will work.
so it saves me hours of remaking each battery mod for each time a rom update is released, which also means i will be able to update the mods to work on the new rom Quicker.

It is Easy to add support for Different rom.

And it is a much quicker method of making the battery mod's

If anyone would like support for a Different Rom added, or a different battery made, send me a pm with the Rom name, or battery icons they wanted, and i will see if i can add support for it.

i can also explain here how to add support for different roms if anyone is interested.

Instruction's For Applying Mod's

Download the Base CWM Zip For the Rom you are Using.
Download the Universal Battery Mod you want to Use.
Copy them both to your Device.
Reboot in to recovery.
Select "Install Zip"'.
Select "Install zip from Internal memory".
Find and Install the CWM Base Zip you Downloaded Previously.
When that has finished Installing, Do the Same for the Universal Battery Mod you Downloaded previously.
Reboot your Device.
And The Battery mod you downloaded should now be applied.

See The Bottom of This post for the CWM Base Zip's.
See the Second Post for the Universal Battery Mod Zip's.

Please let me know if you have any Errors/Problems with the mods, as i havent had time to Properly Test them Yet.

If you like my mods, Please Hit thanks.

Cheers
