There's people coming on here taking themes made by people like you, and using your theme as a frame to create another theme and upload them as their own. Your theme is very tidy, I would like to create my own, how are you making these themes? Editing them through changing file to zip and altering codes? Would be great if someone could maybe make a YouTube video, or thread explaining?? I have made a few through apps.

maiking emui theme is pretty easy.
just take color.xml file from main app via decompiling it and editing it via xml editor to color that app.
and regarging the resource png files,its more easy.just add a replacement of it to the correct folder as a zip file.
and please dont quote main op.

Do I need my laptop to do all this editing, or is there a means to do it with phone? I'm not able to use laptop at the minute I'm not home for a few days.

that depends.
editing of png's cant be done in mobile as it causes redraw problem. so for that pc is a must.
rest all can be done in mobile.
i use mixplorer app by hootanparsa for xml editing,archiving etc and apkeditor pro for decompliing apk's

its for whatsapp baground...just go to whatsapp and open any chat and set wallpaper....it matches the actionbar color so...btw u can use ur own

that headset icon is new for me...never encountered such...
i will try to fix it.
with regarding the notif pull down icon in navbar,am working on it

I installed it and it's fantastic but i have problem in lock screen as i use the smart cover and shows black screen like image and camera app still the same using emui 4.1

i dnt use any smart cover on my device so i cannot test theming on it,maybe i will consider doing it in the future.
camera app is not to much themed.just i jave hidden the divider,more theming will be done in the next update

yes.
without changing to .hwt,theme wont be detected in themes app.
