Can you update this for the latest CM nightlies, at least 63? I just tried this and upon reboot the staus bar FCs. Or maybe make an apk of the system ui with a different name, like system 2 or something?

I'm not sure, does your theme change the current 3g, E, or H icons? If not, No it will not replace your theme.
