DevilDog, it seems once you flash the lockscreens, there's no turning back. Reflashing the theme over the lockscreens produces bootloops. Once you make the appfolders patch to Black and Bold, do I have to return to vanilla Magnolia 1.3.2 and start the process over?
No, I can make a flash that will just update App Folders.

weird issue

i upgraded to 1.3.2 this morning and tried to flash a few of the themes in this thread as well as BnB market. Everything applied fine with the exception of the market. It says install was successful in recovery but also says before that "This is a template update.zip please change this."

I didn't think anything of it since it said "Install from sdcard complete." But once I booted the rom i noticed that neither the BnB market was there nor the original market. I flashed the market before setting up my gmail account as suggested so I do not know what the problem could be. I have flashed the BnB market on 1.3.1 and did not have any issues.

After several attempts and complete wipes and reflashes, I decided to go back to my nandroid backup of 1.3.1 thinking everything will be fine until i figure out the problem with 1.3.2. HOWEVER...somehow now my backup of 1.3.1 also does not have either market and i still get the same error when trying to reflash it in recover.

Any suggestions???

I'm using CWR 2.5.1.2 btw.

Since you want to restore a backup anyway, go ahead and do the wipes like you would for a rom install. Then do your restore and see if that helps.

The market is such a pain in the ass. I also found that CWM 2.5.1.2 does not do proper wipes because I have seen remnants from a prior rom on a fresh install. I use Chad's modded CWM 2.5.1.8.

Using 2.5.1.8 still did not help restore the market and I am getting the same message as before when trying to flash it back. It's just very strange because I didn't get the message before 1.3.2 but I also feel like that doesn't have anything to do with why recovery isn't flashing it properly because it has in the past.

At worst if I can't figure this out I guess I'll just have to use the standard market...not that big of a deal, I just like the BnB themed one better.

Also, what happened to the color notifications file that used to be in the OP? I tried the BnB themed one in 1.3.2 as well but it seemed to turn a lot of other stuff black that had nothing to do with the icons. The icons were great though! I'm not using the BnB theme, but just want certain aspects of it....do you think that could be the problem?

You should be able to flash the color menu theme and get the color notification with it.

App Folders Version 1.5

There is an update in the Black n Bold section that updates the Black n Bold theme to App Folders version 1.5. It is in the "Black n Bold Apps" section. I have also updated the Black n Bold theme with the new version (both Desensitized and Regular).

This one doesn't work properly. When I flash it (and remember, I'm on Magnolia 1.3.2, flashed Black and Bold, flashed BnB lockscreen), reboot, attempt to access AppFolders (via the middle Rosie button), I get the following toast message:

Error: columns folder_id, app_package, app_activity are not unique: INSERT INTO map(folder_id, app_package, app_activity) SELECT map_old_folder_id, app.package, map_old.app_activity FROM map_old INNER JOIN app ON app.activity = map_old.app_activity.

I should mention that I got the same or similar error when I attempted to flash over the new appfolders.apk into the one in \system\app (and also tried to do it in \data\app).

Note also that the AppFolders.apk in \data\app has today's date and is 244.35k; the one in \system\app also has today's date, and is 221.32K.

I know just enough to be dangerous to myself, but I thought I'd give you that info if it helps troubleshoot.

So you're App Folders is in data/app? I looked at where 1.3.2 installed it and it shows to be in system/app. Let me know where you originally had the App Folders installed.

Honestly, I went back to 1.3.1. I didn't have near the issues I was experiencing with 1.3.2 when I was running 1.3.1. I also started desensitizing and running LauncherPro, so I don't even use App Folders anymore.

It's in both locations! I don't know which one actually runs (or what will happen if I delete one.)

Frankly, having had to do another Nandroid restore to clear the error which was not entirely trouble free because of some pooly-behaved apps, I'm tempted to wait for Magnolia 1.4 to do any more tinkering.

Only annoyance is that now AppFolders shows multiple icons of the same Apps for some similarly named apps.

UPDATE: Based upon sk506's advice as to where app is supposed to reside (\system\apps) deleted the "duplicate" version in \data\apps and reflashed DevilDog's themed 1.5. Getting that same annoying error code toast on attempts to run AppFolders and once again have to return to last Nandroid backup. Has anybody successfully flashed the AppFolders 1.5 update after: (1) flashing Black and Bold theme and (2) flashing Black and Bold lockscreens?

FINAL UPDATE: Ultimately, I had to do precisely what I said in #141 above. I returned to vanilla Magnolia 1.3.2, reflashed Black and Bold theme, then reflashed Black and Bold lockscreens, and everything is now as it should be.

Hey devildog,

Whenever you get time could you update the BNB market to version 2.3.6? Appreciate your work and really love your theme set up.

Thanks.

Sorry about that. I changed the update script after I uploaded it and had to replace the file. I never did update the post. I should be good to go now.
No worries buddy, thanks again!

Edit..so I flashed and now get a force closure. Went into apps and cleared data and cache for it but still does it. Do I have to do something specific?

Did your Markket already update to the new version? If so, you need to restore a backup that has the old version still on it. Then you can run the update right after that.

Black n Bold Version 2, Updated Mods and More

With the release of Magnolia 1.4, I will be releasing Black n Bold version 2. There is not a big difference between version 1 and 2, but I changed up some of the buttons that will be used. There are also some other slight differences that you might not even notice. I have personally been running version 2 for a while and I think that it is more appealing, IMHO.

If there is not a good reaction to the new version, I can redo the first version. I will post version 2 in post #2 since Steve is having problems with Transparent theme he was working on.

I will also be doing a new version of the Color Menu theme. I'm sure that the current one will be compatible with Magnolia 1.4, but I want to make sure there are no problems. Steve has said that there are some significant changes to the framework.

All mods from the first post, post 3 and 4 will be done. Since there will not be any major visual changes to most of the mods, I will just label the downloads as Magnolia 1.4. The Black n Bold mods, as I said earlier, will be located in post 2 and will include pictures to show the new buttons in action so you can compare the difference.
