Jabbawalkee and I are proud to present MattedBlues - now for the G2/Desire Z! This theme was originally developed for the EVO and the original thread can be found here. Unfortunately, neither myself nor Jabba actually own a G2 so we're depending on you, the wonderful XDA community, to test out the theme and let us know about your experience.

Without further ado, let's get on to the good stuff:

FAQ:
- The color code for this theme is 73B6D6.
- The weather widget in the screenshot above is the MattedBlues Super Clock skin for Beautiful Widgets.
- The dock in the screenshot is attached to this post.
- The Power Widget indicators in the Notification Dropdown come green by default. To change it to match the rest of the theme go to Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > Interface > Power Widgets > Indicator Color then set it to 73B6D6
- There are no ETAs for anything!

DOWNLOADS:
I've been asked by Jabbawalkee to remove the download links in anticipation of the Theme Chooser version release. Hang tight!!

CHANGELOG:
Code:
5/20 Version 2.92 brings compatibility with CM 7.0.3
4/11 Version 2.9 brings compatibility for CM 7.0.0, removes Facebook and Twitter (for now), fixes text color for Google Voice widgets
3/28 Version 2.8.1 includes themed global tabs (i.e., in dialer), themed vertical/horizontal scrollbar to blue, updated Gmail and an update to CM7 RC3
3/26: Version 2.8 for the G2 is released! Version number matches the EVO versions to reduce confusion about parity amongst devices.
CREDITS:
- Jabbawalkee for creating the most beautiful theme for Android :)
- JSChiSurf for teaching me how to properly join mods together
- Sonnysekhon for showing us how to make a transparent dialer
- nubecoder for the amend2edify app that made flashing this theme possible
and, most importantly,
- YOU for trying and enjoying the theme on your G2.

HOW TO DONATE:
If you enjoy our work and would like to donate:

NEITHER JABBAWALKEE NOR MYSELF OWN A G2! We're relying on YOU to provide feedback on this port! We told ourselves we wouldn't do this but I saw this thread and it inspired me to bring the theme to this device. We really hope you enjoy it :)

Install instructions? Do I just download nightly 31 from the CM7 nightly thread then flash the mattedblues v.2.8 seperate? Or do I have to go in and replace the framework and stuff myself?

To install you just flash it like a ROM. Full install instructions for a fresh start are:

- Flash CM7 ROM
- Flash GAPPS for your device
- Reboot, let phone load into CM7
- Reboot into recovery
- Flash MattedBlues
- Reboot and enjoy

Failed. I received the same error I did when trying to flash the EVO version. Perhaps it's because we're using CWM Recovery here on G2 and not Aman(Amon)? I believe that's the problem. The error is this:

Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported. Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5. It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recoery. Please switch to Edify scripting (update-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages. Installation aborted.

So when I searched that error before, I read a lot of stuff about the Amon(aman), whatever the spelling is.

EDIT: Sorry, was writing this message as you posted your new message. Will try again.

Yup. I just thought about that so I already updated the link in the OP with a new zip. Please re-download it and give it another go. I'd greatly appreciate it.

EDIT: Just saw your EDIT :p

EUREKA!

Upon initial boot into the theme, it's looking marvelous! The colors seem right, icons, fonts, bootanimation, keyboard, everything appears to be great! Of course, I haven't had a chance to check anything out yet, but on first look everything is good. I've only opened the keyboard, dragged down the notification bar and opened the settings menu. By the way, is the power bar in the notification drag down supposed to be green? I'll have to check the screenshots after this post.

Thanks a million!! Beautiful theme!

You have to change the Indicator color manually. I believe it's CyanogenMod Settings > Interface > Power Widgets > Indicator Color then set it to 73B6D6. I'll add this to the FAQ section if you can verify it for me.

Tested the color, it's a wee-bit light for the rest of the theme (in my personal opinion). But perhaps that's what you were going for. Again, I haven't looked around the theme much, perhaps if that color appears more throughout the theme, the lighter color will be justified. But the status bar blues are quite a bit darker.

I happen to think that color fits quite well with the theme overall. Besides, that's the main color code for the theme. To each their own though. Feel free to find a deeper color code and share with the rest of us. That would be pretty cool :) My EVO died earlier today and I'm without a phone for a couple of days otherwise I'd tinker with it myself.

EDIT: That's the way it's supposed to be, btw.

Aww, that stinks. I'm transferring jobs and don't have the extra funds or I'd donate to help with the EVO. Sorry about that. But on second thought, the color does look quite well. It goes with the other colors nicely. But it threw me off when I was expecting it to look the same as the statusbar colors. Brilliant colors nonetheless. Very subtle and clean looking. The animations are great also. If you'd like me to test anything else, just give me a shout. I'd be more than happy. I've been waiting for this port since I saw the theme.

No worries. Thanks for helping with that initial bump in the road. I really appreciate your help.
