Hi all,

as I make my own Theme after every ROM Samsung releases, I wanted to share this with you as I know some people find it useful.

You can choose between the known "greenish" stock theme and a blue themed mod (my personal favourite).

If you are coming from a previous version of Boeffla-Mod, please flash the rollback package first to make sure you are back to a clean basis. Then flash the packages you want (you can flash all in a row), but it is advised you flash them in the numeric order to avoid side effects, i.e. flash from 1 to 5 and not in random sequence.

Version history:

Version 2.2

• New Addon6: Add CRT-ON effect + BLN for stock SMS app
• New Addon5 (Deluxe add-in): Adds full flavoured JKays Deluxe Themes with 5 lock & customizable power menu to Boeffla-Mode (thanks to ZaneZam for his work). Note: This addon work on both odexed and deodexed roms!
• Addon5 uses an intelligent way of detecting whether you are using an odexed or deodexed rom, and applies the right mod automatically (subject to be potentially done for all other Boeffla-Mod parts as well based on experiences)
• Important note: Addon5 already includes Addon2 (the disabled scrolling cache) - so please do not flash Addon2 AFTER Addon5 as it will break functionality of the Deluxe addon.
• Bugfix in main Boeffla-Mod to animate battery icon when charging
• New rollback zip of course as well

Version 2.1

• Stock theme: New circular battery icon (nicer looking, I like it, thanks ZaneZam)
• Stock and blue theme available
• Blue theme: New circular battery icon (nicer looking, I like it too, thanks to ZaneZam)
• Blue theme: Colour of pattern lock circles now blue instead of green (thanks to KeeperOfTheSun for the images)
• Addon3: SMS contact limit was still showing a warning message although it worked, this is now removed

Version 2.0

• Everything built completely fresh from scratch
• Stock and blue theme available
• Battery icon with percentage numbers (green or blue circle)
• Connection icons turn to green/blue when fully connected
• Some more statusbar icons changes for blue theme
• Extended power menu
• Some quickpanel icons from ICS
• Some transparency effects in pull down
• Change overscroll glow to white for stock theme (blue for blue theme)
• CRT off animation
• ICS window animations
• Energy saving widget is now also semi-transparent, and in blue mod has also blue theming
• Fully transparent Dialer and Contacts list
• All apks Zipaligned

Screenshots are attached (thanks to ZaneZam, Soyuz 3 and Rebel2k for providing them as I am currently on ICS)

If you want to undo, just flash the rollback file in CWM and you are back to XWJW1 stock.

As always: Flash on our own risk! Make sure you flash the correct version depending on whether you have a odexed or deodexed firmware!!! Make sure you have some space on /system left before you flash. I can and will not take any responsibility for bricked phones.

And on a very special request, I want you to know I used partially apktool (1.4.3) to do my mod. Also I used smali/baksmali 1.3.2. These tools have bugs as any other software of course, so it might come to unexpected side effects


On top of that:
I understand, many people would like to have slight deviations of this mod, different battery icons, different overscroll glow colours etc. However, I honestly do not have enough time to fulfill all your special requests.
I build this mod only for my personal use basically, so it is like it is.

If you want to still have different Battery Icons etc, I recommend you to use the UOT kitchen (http://http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen) with which you can do a lot of additional tweaking yourself.
Just extract the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk files out of the Boeffla-Mod zip and load it into kitchen. As soon as the new files are built by kitchen, flash the zip file after Boeffla-Mod and you are there.

Hi Brignoud,

huh, yes you are right. I did a re-upload yesterday after rebuilding the mod with a later apktool version.
No functionality change involved at all.

But: Version 1.4.3. is supposed to be ready soon. It will contain the AOSP lockscreen and some transparency effect in the pulldown menu.
So no need for you to update if everything runs fine on your side.
I just wanted somebody else to test it before I post it here (you know, two opinions are always better). It runs already fine on my side since today morning.

Hi,

I would not dare to try it.
Although I never tried it I would assume you will end up in a boot loop. The files are not identical between JW1 and JVT, so vice versa it is already confirmed there is a bootloop.

If you are very brave: Do a nandroid backup, try it, and if it does not work restore the backup.

Sorry, i do not have JVT to test.

Hi,

I am afraid to say, no I am not gonna implement this.
Please refer to first post, my time is too limited for another modification. There will be no big functional changes anymore, maybe some graphical finetuning as it does not require big work. But nothing more.

Secondly, I want to be as close to stock as possible to not break any functionality or cause instability.

And also to be honest: I am not using the multi-toggle thingy personally, as I do not like it.

Hello AndIp,
thank you for the theme, the transparency in particular is great!
However i think there's a small defect (yes i'm very picky, i know...).
In the JVT stock lockscreen i had, the sliders were entirely gray semi-transparent (see screenshot 1).
In your version, when you begin to slide you will see that the first part of the slider is dark gray (like the JVT one) but the remaining part is white (see screenshot 2).

Is it possible to patch this?

Anyway, I am working on a complete rebuilt version which is looking completely different (I am blue addict, so I make anything a bit more blueish, not yet sure if I keep the more stock like one I do currently).

Hi Matthias,

the battery icons are located in framework-res.apk under /res/drawable-hdpi.

So you can use 7zip to first get the framework-res.apk out of the zip file. Then use 7zip again to open the apk and replace the icons with the ones you like (just drag and drop into the folder in 7zip). And then everything vice versa. Voila.

Hi,

that is the easiest way as long as you can live with what the OUT kitchen provides (and this is quite a lot).

I used kitchen in former times as well, works really nicely.
