These themes are great! So great they should be the stock theme. One issue: part of the AM/PM is cut off.

Slightly confused here. For the repacks, do we flash those inside of the recovery or do we have to fastboot/adb them like we are flashing TWRP normally? My understanding they are just the curtains (or boot logo) and not the actual recovery itself.
Seems its a flashable zip mean just flash in recovery and it modifies the curtain only.

However I was on 2.6.0 and after flashing a repack it now says 2.6.2. Did it update me or is that just from the theme?

You have been updated. The zip contains a complete recovery image. This image includes a changed curtain. No way to change curtain if not by replacing the recovery...
