yeah, the boot animation is in update.zip format however i've found that there are multiple ROM's out there that don't use the same method to replace the boot animationSorry I have a noob question. Can I flash the boot animation via recovery? Thank you.
there's 2 methods i've found so far.
one is a regular add the bootanimation.zip to data/local (thats for stock ROMs apparently and it doesn't replace it, more like overlays it so it doesn't remove or permanently replace the boot animation)
the other is to replace the bootanimation.zip inside system/media which is the method i've chosen for this one to work and luckily it did, but this method is also permanent which is why i said in bold to "back up before installing"
its even got the Thunder clap sound
the Droid X users somehow confused the boot sound with the VZW logo bootup audio called "Tranquility" which is very annoying to hear over and over again since its like the old Verizon ringtone but i must say, it sounds better than the old one. it seems LTE is the rebirth for Verizon to make everything old a-new.
